1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYes—Minecraft 2.0 builds were downloadable in 2013, but they were part of an April Fools’ joke, not a real sequel or a normal game update. The historical builds came in Blue, Red, and Purple variants; the available evidence does not establish a currently supported official download or confirm that archived files are safe to run.
What was Minecraft 2.0?
On April 1, 2013, a Minecraft Forum post announced “the next iteration of Minecraft” as “MINECRAFT 2.0!!!” The post was explicitly labeled April Fools’, so the announcement was a joke rather than news of a genuine sequel. Read the dated announcement.
The Minecraft Wiki likewise describes Java Edition 2.0 as an April Fools’ joke and says there was no actual Java Edition 2.0 in development. See its account of Java Edition 2.0.
Were the builds really downloadable?
Yes. A contemporaneous discussion thread linked downloadable zip archives for three builds and described their contents. That establishes that the joke builds existed as downloads at the time; it does not establish that the old links still work or that any file now found online is authentic or safe. See the April 1, 2013 build discussion.

Why wasn’t it in the launcher’s version list?
Mojang’s legacy issue tracker records a 2013 report that Minecraft 2.0 did not appear in the launcher’s version selector. The report was marked “Works As Intended,” consistent with the build being a limited April Fools’ release rather than a regular version offered through the launcher. View the legacy launcher issue.
Can you get an official Minecraft 2.0 download today?
The current official Minecraft download page covers the launcher and today’s Minecraft editions; it does not establish an official, supported download route for the 2013 joke builds. Check Minecraft’s official download page.

Because the available records do not verify current archive integrity, malware status, or compatibility with present-day launchers and operating systems, treat third-party copies cautiously. The historical existence of a zip link is not proof that a file hosted today is unchanged or safe to run.
