The claim that Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 1.2 had a leaked “free agent” is unverified by the available sources. HoYoverse’s official program announcement named Caesar and Burnice, but it did not identify either as a free agent or confirm the leak. Version 1.2 is a past update, released on September 25, 2024, according to an update-details page.
Is the Version 1.2 “free agent” leak confirmed?
No. The sources available for this claim do not identify who the alleged “free agent” is, provide the leak itself, or establish whether “free agent” is an official in-game term. Without the original post or a reliable report quoting it, the headline cannot be verified.
Keep “free agent” in quotation marks: the phrase should not be silently treated as meaning a free character, a banner character, or a combat role. Those are different claims, and the available information does not establish which one the headline intended.
What was officially announced for Version 1.2?
HoYoverse’s Version 1.2 Special Program reminder announced a livestream for September 13, 2024, at 19:30 (UTC+8), and named Caesar and Burnice among its presenters. A secondary recap of the program lists Caesar and Burnice as the update’s new characters.

That official program context confirms the characters’ connection to the update, not the alleged leak. It does not say either character was the “free agent.”

When did Version 1.2 come out?
A secondary update-details page dates Version 1.2, titled “Tour de Inferno,” to September 25, 2024. It describes Caesar as an S-Rank Defense Agent and also discusses Burnice’s combat role. These update details provide historical context; they do not resolve the leak wording.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What would verify the claim?
To establish what the headline referred to, a source would need to show the original leak or reliably reproduce its exact wording and attribution. The post’s date and whether later official information confirmed or contradicted it would also matter. In the absence of that evidence, naming Caesar or Burnice as the leaked “free agent” would go beyond what the announcements support.
