Neither is an objective winner: the better choice depends on what you want from an open-world game.
What makes Watch Dogs different?
Watch Dogs puts hacking at the center of its city and its approach to play. Ubisoft describes using connected systems to manipulate the environment, including traffic lights, gas lines, and the electrical grid. The PlayStation listing also highlights hacking and profiling. If changing the city around you is the feature that sounds most appealing, Watch Dogs is the clearer fit.

That distinction is more useful than calling it “GTA with hacking.” The games have different defining structures: Ubisoft foregrounds interaction with connected city systems, while Rockstar frames Grand Theft Auto V around a crime story and heists. These are publisher descriptions, not a controlled comparison of mission quality or overall enjoyment.
What does Grand Theft Auto V offer?
Rockstar describes Grand Theft Auto V as a story about three protagonists drawn into the criminal underworld and attempting dangerous heists. Start here if that ensemble crime premise is your priority.

GTA Online is a separate multiplayer experience alongside Story Mode. Rockstar describes it as a persistent, evolving online universe for up to 30 players. That is the store page’s current description, not a promise that every session or platform will have 30 players.

Watch Dogs
Ubisoft’s store listing for Watch_Dogs Complete Edition says it includes the game and Season Pass content, including a new game mode, weapons, outfits, and missions. Ubisoft says DLC bought through Ubisoft.com or Ubisoft Connect is compatible only with base games bought on those platforms, so do not assume that add-ons transfer across storefronts.

Rockstar’s examined PC listing includes both GTAV Enhanced and GTAV Legacy; the listing says Legacy is included for hardware that does not meet Enhanced’s minimum requirements. Other platform and regional listings may differ. Check the current store page for your platform and region, and confirm whether the edition includes the mode you want.
