The three classic Roblox dance commands are /e dance, /e dance2, and /e dance3. Enter one in an experience’s chat to try the corresponding emote, if that experience allows chat emotes. This is the classic built-in command list—not every dance animation available through avatar emotes or individual Roblox games.
The three classic Roblox dance commands
Roblox calls these character animations emotes. The exact commands and motion descriptions below come from Roblox Den’s dance guide, a third-party source; Roblox’s official documentation confirms that dance is a default emote and that chat commands can trigger emotes.

How to use an e-dance
- Join an experience that permits chat emotes.
- Open the in-game chat.
- Type
/e dance,/e dance2, or/e dance3, then submit the message.
Roblox also supports emotes through an emotes menu. Its Creator Hub emotes documentation describes chat commands and the menu as ways to access emotes. The menu’s setup and available choices can depend on the experience.
Does “all” mean every dance in Roblox?
No. The three commands are the classic built-in /e dance commands, not a complete catalog of every dance animation a player might encounter. Roblox distinguishes default emotes from additional avatar emotes that can be obtained through the Marketplace, and experience creators can configure emote access. Some games also provide their own dance systems. See Roblox’s emotes documentation and emote creation guidance for those broader distinctions.
