It can also carry players and certain structures. The wiki says its creature-carry range includes everything a Quetzal can carry, plus some heavier creatures, including Basilisks, Magmasaurs, and Reapers.
Which creatures can a Rhyniognatha carry?
The wiki gives the Rhyniognatha a stated creature pickup limit of 600 Drag Weight. That is a creature-size threshold, not a limit for the combined weight of an object or inventory. The carried creature must not have a platform saddle.
The wiki also says the Rhyniognatha can carry every creature a Quetzal can carry, as well as some creatures beyond the Quetzal’s range. It names Basilisk, Magmasaur, and Reaper as examples that only the Rhyniognatha can carry. Those examples are not a complete list.
These figures and examples are community-wiki guidance, not a guarantee for every ARK edition, patch, or server configuration. Check the rules for the edition and server you play on if a particular pickup matters.

Can it carry players and structures?
Yes. The wiki says a Rhyniognatha can pick up a player or a structure as well as creatures. It specifically describes carrying structures such as Vaults; this is a separate ability from picking up a creature based on Drag Weight.
For a carried Vault, the wiki says the contents’ item weight does not affect the Rhyniognatha. Carrying a structure costs one Resin every 30 seconds, according to the same page. Do not apply that special structure rule to ordinary creature inventory or platform-saddle storage.

How does this differ from ordinary weight?
Drag Weight determines whether a creature is within the stated pickup range; it is not the same as the weight of items in that creature’s inventory. The wiki’s general Weight guide says items stored on a platform saddle add their contents’ weight to the creature. That general rule is distinct from the Rhyniognatha’s structure-carry mechanic, where a Vault’s contents do not add weight to the carrier.
