For Roblox voice chat age verification, use your own government-issued photo ID. Roblox lists a driver’s license, passport, residency card, or another government-issued identification document with your picture on it. You must be at least 13 to verify with an ID. ID is not the only age-check option: Roblox also offers Facial Age Estimation to eligible users.
Which IDs does Roblox accept?
Roblox’s ID Verification instructions name a driver’s license, passport, residency card, or another government-issued photo ID. Submit your own document, with your picture on it. The exact options can vary by country, so use the documents offered in your account’s verification flow rather than assuming every type is accepted everywhere.
Roblox says age verification is supported in over 180 countries, and that in most countries users can use a driver’s license, residency card, or passport. That does not guarantee that every document type is accepted in every country; check the options Roblox presents for your account in ID Verification FAQs.
Do you have to submit an ID to use voice chat?
No. Roblox’s current Voice Chat instructions allow eligible users to complete an age check using either ID verification or Facial Age Estimation. The option available to you depends on what Roblox presents for your account. Phone verification is not a substitute: Roblox Support says phone verification is not a valid method to gain Voice Chat access.

Roblox describes the two age-check routes in Understanding Age Checks on Roblox. ID verification requires a government-issued photo document; Facial Age Estimation is an alternative age-check method.
How to verify with an ID
- Sign in to Roblox and open Settings > Account Info.
- Select Continue with ID and allow camera access when prompted.
- Scan your government-issued photo ID. If it has a barcode, capture the back as well.
- Take the requested photo so Roblox can check that you are the person pictured on the ID.
- Check the verification status in Settings > Account Info or in the session where you started. Roblox says the status may take a few minutes to appear.
Roblox’s ID Verification FAQ notes that blurry or incomplete document images can take longer to process. If verification succeeds, Roblox says it corrects the account birthday to the birthday shown on the submitted ID.

Why voice chat might still be unavailable
Passing an age check does not guarantee that Voice Chat will appear. Roblox says access is limited by regional availability and whether the individual experience supports Voice Chat. Check Roblox’s current Voice Chat instructions and Voice FAQ for current availability, then check the experience description and its settings. Regional support can change, so rely on the current support page and the controls shown in your account rather than an old country list.
