Benny’s Original Motor Works in GTA Online does not modify every car. It works only on specific eligible vehicles, and each one offers its own set of options. In most cases a base model is converted into a named Custom or upgraded variant, such as the Karin Sultan becoming the Sultan RS. Rockstar’s published update notes document many of these pairs, but they are dated announcements, not a live, complete catalogue. The reliable way to confirm a particular car is the current Benny’s listing in the game.
Which cars Benny’s can work on
Eligibility is decided per model. Age, body style, or a car’s resemblance to a documented vehicle does not make it eligible. Rockstar’s notes name the following combinations, and the table lists only what the official notes state.

Vehicles named in the original 2015 update
Rockstar’s first Benny’s update named six vehicles as eligible for Benny’s unique modifications. The notes summarized here do not spell out a separate conversion name for each one, so they are listed by model only:
- Willard Faction
- Declasse Moonbeam
- Albany Buccaneer
- Declasse Voodoo
- Albany Primo
- Vapid Chino
Later additions
Subsequent updates added further eligible vehicles. Rockstar’s notes name these models:

Because these lists come from separate announcements, a model appearing here shows that it was added at some point. It does not guarantee that it is still obtainable or unchanged in every version of the game or on every platform.
What Benny’s can change on an eligible car
Benny’s offers a menu that goes beyond what ordinary mod shops provide. Rockstar’s notes describe the following categories:

Availability varies by vehicle. The clearest example is the Sultan RS and Banshee 900R: Rockstar’s notes say neither receives hydraulics, even though both are Benny’s conversions. Do not assume that a car eligible for Benny’s will offer every item on this list.
Vehicles that are excluded from modification in general
Rockstar Support’s general modification guidance, last updated in 2024, excludes several categories of vehicle from modification altogether. These include:

- Vehicles obtained through glitches or exploits
These exclusions are a separate rule from Benny’s eligibility. A car that is not excluded still has to be a model Benny’s supports before any conversion is possible.

- Rule out the general exclusions. If the car is a Pegasus vehicle, a certain emergency vehicle, another player’s personal vehicle, or came from a glitch or exploit, Benny’s will not work on it, regardless of model.
- Look up the exact model. Check the current Benny’s vehicle website or the in-game Benny’s interface. Match the model name exactly, since the base vehicle and its Custom or upgraded variant are separate entries.
- Check the specific option you want. Eligibility does not guarantee every feature. Confirm that the option you are after, such as hydraulics, is offered for that model.
- Treat a missing model as ineligible. If the vehicle does not appear in the live listing, use an ordinary mod shop instead.
What the update notes cannot tell you
- Current completeness. Rockstar’s notes from 2015, 2017, and 2020 record what each update added. They do not combine into a current, complete list of eligible cars.
- Prices and availability. The notes do not establish current costs for any conversion, nor do they confirm that every listed model is obtainable today.
- Platform differences. The sources do not verify whether every platform’s vehicle catalogue matches the one described in the notes.
For those three points, the in-game listing is the only reliable check. Real-world wheels, repair tools, or car parts do not unlock or affect Benny’s conversions in GTA Online, so they are not a substitute for checking the game.
