The basic flow is accept the Quest, complete its listed task before its deadline, then claim the reward. Tasks, eligibility, platforms, and rewards vary by campaign, so check the Quest card’s terms before you start.
What a Discord Quest is
Discord describes Quests as a rewarded-ad format: a way for players to engage with games or other content in exchange for rewards, while advertisers reach an audience. Discord says participation is opt-in and that Quest promotions are visually distinguished from the rest of the app. Each campaign has its own acceptance and completion window, requirements, and terms. Discord’s Quest FAQ, updated August 31, 2026, is the reference for current support details; the live Quest card controls the terms of an individual campaign.

Sponsored Quests are developed with game developers and publishers, and their experiences and rewards can be tailored to a particular game. That does not make every Quest the same: the task and reward shown on your card are what matter for that promotion.
How to find, accept, and claim a Quest
- Find a campaign. On desktop or in a browser, open the Quest bar or go to Discover > Quests. On mobile, Discord lists Settings > Quests for discovery, but mobile Quest features are in beta and limited to specific campaigns.
- Read the card before accepting. Check the task, eligible platform, deadline, reward, and promotion terms. For a Play Quest, use the card’s accept control; for a Video Quest, start it using the displayed control.
- Complete the stated task within its window. Follow the instructions on the card; requirements differ from one campaign to another.
- Claim the reward. After Discord marks the Quest complete, select Claim Reward from the Quest bar or Quest Home. A completed task does not necessarily mean the reward has already been added or redeemed.
- Follow any separate redemption instructions. Discord rewards, such as Orbs or avatar decorations, are added to your Discord account after claiming. A partner-game reward may instead be a code that you must redeem on the game’s own redemption site.
Quest task types and where they work
Discord’s FAQ describes several task formats. A campaign may use one of these or, in some cases, an experimental format. Follow the specific card rather than assuming a task is available for every Quest.

Mobile support is not a blanket alternative to desktop or browser play. Discord says mobile acceptance, progress tracking, and viewing are in beta and supported only for specific Quests.

What rewards can you get?
Quest rewards can include avatar decorations, in-game items, or Orbs. A campaign may give a reward directly in Discord, or provide a game-specific code with its own redemption steps. The card and claim flow specify which applies and any deadline or conditions.
How Orbs work
Orbs are virtual rewards earned through Quests and used in Discord’s Shop. According to the current Discord Orbs FAQ, updated October 5, 2026, eligible Shop redemptions include Nitro credits, items from main collections, and other available rewards. The live Shop shows what can be claimed at a given time.

- Orbs cannot be bought or gifted, transferred between accounts, exchanged for money, or moved to another platform.
- Shop items claimed with Orbs are not refundable.
- Discord’s FAQ describes a 1.2x Orb multiplier for eligible Nitro subscribers on qualifying Orb-reward Quests that started on or after May 8, 2026. Trial and gifted Nitro subscriptions qualify; Nitro Basic and Nitro obtained through Nitro Credits do not.
- The FAQ also describes a monthly Orb benefit for maintaining an eligible Nitro subscription. Check the live FAQ for its current terms.
Discord’s July 2025 announcement introduced Orbs as a Quest reward and gave Nitro credits and profile items as examples at that time. For current redemption options, rely on the current FAQ and Shop rather than that dated announcement.

Orb Challenges are not universal
Discord labels Orb Challenges an experiment on desktop and browser, and says they are not widely available. Whether one appears, and what it offers, can vary by account and over time.

Why a Quest or reward may not appear
Not seeing the same promotion as a friend does not, by itself, show that anything is broken. Discord says Quest availability depends on eligibility and region, and the number of available Quests can vary. Its FAQ says users aged 13–17 are limited to three Quests per day; that stated cap should not be generalized to other age groups.
- Region or account eligibility: Discord says some regions are excluded, and users in an ineligible region cannot complete that promotion. Discord does not provide a public account-level explanation for why a particular person sees a particular campaign.
- Mobile availability: A Quest visible on desktop may not be available to accept, track, or view on mobile.
- Promotion controls: Discord offers controls to hide an individual promotion or opt out of Quest promotions, as well as personalization settings. Look in Discord’s current settings and Quest interface because labels and navigation can change.
- Quest window: A campaign’s acceptance or completion period may have ended. Check the card’s terms and deadline.
Fixing progress or claim problems
- Progress is not updating: Discord recommends restarting the app and checking for available updates.
- Linked in-game action is not recognized: If the Quest depends on game-developer activity data, Discord says processing may take up to 36 hours after you complete the action.
- The task is complete but no reward is visible: Check the Quest bar or Quest Home for Claim Reward. For a partner-game item, look for a code and follow the separate redemption instructions.
- An Orb issue remains unresolved: Discord’s Orbs FAQ directs users to Discord Support for account-specific problems.
How to compare two Quest campaigns
Before accepting, compare the details that affect whether you can finish and use the reward:

- Task: Timed play, streaming, linked in-game activity, video viewing, or an experimental format.
- Platform: Desktop or browser requirements, and whether that specific campaign supports mobile.
- Reward: Direct Discord item, Orbs for the Shop, or a partner-game reward with separate code redemption.
- Time and eligibility: Region and account eligibility, campaign window, and any applicable daily cap.
- Tracking: Whether progress is handled in Discord or depends on activity data from a game developer.
Discord reported in 2025 that more than 50% of users who had seen or interacted with a Quest in the prior month said Quests improved their Discord experience. Discord attributed that result to its internal survey of approximately 1,000 Quest users; it is the company’s reported survey finding, not an independent evaluation.
