What each percentage broadly tracks
The labels players report seeing are “Edgerunner,” “Synergy” and “Respite.” Community discussions commonly map them to V’s legend, Johnny affinity and the Relic-related arc, respectively. These are player interpretations, not definitions confirmed in an official developer glossary.

Do the percentages show main-story completion?
No. They represent separate narrative indicators, so they can rise at different rates and should not be added together or treated as one overall progress bar. A high number in any of them does not, by itself, tell you how much of the main story you have completed.

Does the right-hand percentage mean V is about to die?
It is commonly associated with the Relic and V’s story arc, but interpreting it as a literal countdown is not supported. Players disagree about whether it reflects deterioration, the chip’s effects or story-dependent progress, and the available official notes do not define the meter or connect it to a precise amount of time or play remaining.
CD Projekt Red’s Patch 2.01 notes mention a Phantom Liberty bug that could let players “earn multiple Relic points” by triggering an event more than once. That confirms Relic points as a distinct progression system; it does not establish that the menu percentage is a direct conversion of those points.

What is officially confirmed about the meters?
The retrieved official notes do not provide exact definitions, formulas, thresholds or ending-unlock rules for the three percentages. Update 2.0 notes describe extensive gameplay and interface changes but do not explain these indicators. The official Patch 2.01 notes likewise do not define them. The broad interpretations above are therefore useful guides, not guaranteed mechanical descriptions; the available sources also do not establish whether labels and behavior are identical across platforms and game versions.
