The Zoologist sells animal-themed items, including pets, mounts, vanity gear, critter tools, and a Universal Pylon. Her stock is conditional: some items require Bestiary progress, while others appear only at certain times, during events, or after boss progression. Listed prices are base costs and can change with NPC happiness and discounts.
What the Zoologist sells

How Bestiary progress unlocks her shop
The Bestiary has 546 entries, and its progress is tied to an individual world. To make the Zoologist available, reach 10% completion—55 entries—and provide a vacant house. More entries open additional stock. Official Terraria Wiki: Bestiary
- At 3% (17 entries), the Leather Whip becomes available.
- At 25% (137 entries), the Dog License and Digging Molecart unlock.
- At 50% (273 entries), the three globes and Lightning Carrot unlock.
- At 100% (546 entries), the Universal Pylon unlocks.
These thresholds are useful checkpoints, but some items use a different requirement altogether: a moon phase, Blood Moon, Party, Hardmode, or defeated boss can determine availability instead.

Why an item may not appear
- Check the world’s Bestiary: progress in another world does not establish the required completion here.
- Check the exact threshold: percentage thresholds correspond to entry counts, so the next item may require more entries than the NPC’s initial unlock.
- Check the condition beyond Bestiary: Hardmode, Plantera, the Solar Pillar, a Party, a Blood Moon, or a specific moon phase may be required.
- Check the pylon condition: the listed Any Pylon requires a specific biome and another NPC nearby.
- Check the price you can afford: displayed base prices may be affected by happiness or discounts such as a Discount Card or Greedy Ring. The NPC reference documents happiness-based price changes. Official Terraria Wiki: NPCs
Version and platform notes
The inventory page covers Desktop, Console, and Mobile, and records Desktop 1.4.5.0 changes: Kaguya and Swarm Grenades were added, the Leather Whip threshold changed from 10% to 3%, the Squirrel Hook was set to 10%, and the Digging Molecart threshold was reduced from 35% to 25%. Exact platform patch timing and cross-platform parity are not established here; the shop can also change in later updates.
