The two confirmed native PS Vita releases are Final Fantasy X HD Remaster and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster. Older PS1 and PSP Final Fantasy games are a separate category: whether you can play or buy those on Vita depends on the title, region, account, and store access.
Native PS Vita releases
- Final Fantasy X HD Remaster
- Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster
Square Enix announced both remasters for PS Vita on March 22, 2013, based on the games’ International versions. They were also released for PS3. The Vita versions supported cross-save. Square Enix’s announcement and its later North American release announcement describe the releases.

Physical copies: check the region and X-2 code
The Vita physical package did not necessarily put both games on the card. Square Enix’s North American announcement listed Final Fantasy X on the physical copy and a voucher to download Final Fantasy X-2. Its PAL-region announcement likewise said X was on the game card and X-2 came by redeemable download code. The announcements gave different regional release dates: March 18, 2014 for North America and March 21, 2014 for PAL regions. North American details; PAL-region details.
If you are considering a used Final Fantasy X HD Remaster PS Vita package, check whether it includes the X-2 code and whether that code has already been redeemed. A listing that includes the case or card does not establish that the download voucher is still usable.
#1 Best Overall
- New Twist on Classic Battles: All new battle system where players utilize captured monsters to create powerful monster towers to fight foes using their size, element, and order to win the battle
- Customize, Evolve & Saddle Up: Endless customization options that turn monsters into ability-boosting magicite; Evolve them to gain new specializations, or ride them to travel faster
- A World of Vertical Possibility: Dive into vertically stacked dungeons and use creature abilities and magicite effects to get past obstacles and progress
What about PS1 and PSP Final Fantasy games?
Some older Final Fantasy titles were released for PS1 or PSP and may be playable on a Vita through legacy compatibility. That does not make them native Vita releases, and access to a particular game can vary by region, account, and current store availability.
Square Enix’s PSOne Classics catalog includes Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy Tactics. That catalog listing confirms those titles appeared there; it does not confirm that each remains purchasable or accessible on every regional Vita store. See Square Enix’s PSOne Classics catalog.
Rank #2
- Final Fantasy X 2 available as download only; Voucher Included; Internet Connection Required
Is Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on PS Vita?
No—not as a North American or European Vita release. PlayStation corrected an earlier headline that had named PS Vita, clarifying that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD was coming to PS4 in those regions. PlayStation’s corrected announcement.
