In May 2024, reports said Take-Two was closing Roll7, the studio behind Rollerdrome, and Intercept Games, which developed Kerbal Space Program 2 (KSP2), alongside broad layoffs at Private Division. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick disputed calling the studios “shuttered,” but that wording dispute does not erase the reported office closures and staff changes. The reports are from 2024, not a new 2026 announcement.
What happened to Roll7 and Intercept Games?
Contemporaneous reports in May 2024 described Roll7 and Intercept Games as closing and reported widespread layoffs across Private Division, Take-Two’s publishing label. Game Informer covered the reported closures and layoffs in its May 2, 2024 report. Game Developer also reported on the closures and the company’s response regarding KSP2 support.

The studios were tied to two different games: Roll7 made Rollerdrome, while Intercept Games developed Kerbal Space Program 2. The closures therefore raised separate questions about each game’s future.
Why did Take-Two say it had not “shuttered” the studios?
In May 2024, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “We didn’t shutter those studios, to be clear,” according to Nintendo Life’s report. His statement challenged the word “shuttered”; it does not, by itself, negate contemporaneous reporting about office closures, layoffs, or changes to studio operations. The distinction is between the company’s characterization and the reported employment and operational changes.

What happens to Kerbal Space Program 2?
Private Division said in 2024 that it would continue supporting KSP2, as reported by Game Developer. That was a historical assurance, not a verified current development commitment or schedule.
Steam’s current KSP2 listing still labels the game Early Access, names Intercept Games as developer and Private Division as publisher, and says the last developer update was over two years ago. Steam also warns that the Early Access details and timeline supplied by the developer may no longer be current. Those storefront details establish what Steam displays, not whether development will resume or whether a new support commitment exists. See the KSP2 Steam page.

Is Rollerdrome still supported after Roll7 closed?
Take-Two’s official announcement introduced Rollerdrome as a Roll7 and Private Division game and set its digital launch for August 16, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The announcement establishes the studio-game relationship and original release details; it does not establish a current update or support plan. No current Rollerdrome update plan is verified by the available reporting. The original announcement is on the Take-Two website.
