What happens to Aphrodite in God of War III?
Aphrodite appears in God of War III and encounters Kratos. A secondary franchise character reference describes her as unharmed in that scene and says she does not fight him; it also characterizes what happens to her later as ambiguous. That establishes her status in the encounter, not her ultimate fate. [c003]

Does Aphrodite die after God of War III?
There is no confirmed answer. She is not shown dying in her encounter with Kratos, but that does not prove she survives the game’s aftermath. Likewise, her absence from later material is not evidence that she died.
Do later God of War games confirm her fate?
The official PlayStation franchise page lists God of War III Remastered and describes God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla as taking place after Ragnarök, but the official material reviewed does not provide a later appearance or explicit update about Aphrodite. [c002]

Santa Monica Studio’s June 2, 2026 announcement for God of War Laufey says the game explores what happens to gods when they die and introduces the Everywhen as a realm associated with the return of magic. It does not name Aphrodite or explain what happened to her, so it does not settle her individual fate. [c001]

- Unconfirmed theories: Claims that she escaped Greece, died off-screen, had a child with Kratos, or appeared elsewhere are fan speculation unless supported by a future primary source.
Santa Monica Studio Communications Director Grace Orlady wrote in the God of War Laufey announcement: “In God of War Laufey, we explore the answer to that question: What happens to the gods when they die?” [c001] That statement describes the new game’s broader subject; it is not an answer about Aphrodite.
