Until the companies publish specific instructions, do not assume that a subscription has transferred, that one subscription includes the other service, or that you need to cancel or sign up again. Check official account and billing notices for any change that affects your plan.
Will the combined service cost less or more?
No final price, bundle terms or merger-related savings have been announced in the cited coverage. It is not yet possible to say whether customers will pay more or less, or whether they will be able to choose between separate subscriptions and a combined plan.

If you are deciding whether to keep or cancel a current subscription, compare the confirmed terms that apply to you:
- The monthly price and plan limits for each service.
- Whether the shows and films you want are available on that service.
- Ad-supported or ad-free terms, plus any simultaneous-stream or download limits.
- Any official instructions about account, billing or migration changes.
These are useful questions for comparing current plans; the reporting does not establish what the future service’s terms will be.

Will HBO still be HBO?
David Ellison, Skydance’s CEO, said in an earlier statement reported by the AP: “Our viewpoint is, HBO should stay HBO.” He also said that bringing the platforms together could allow the content to reach a broader audience. That is Ellison’s stated viewpoint, not a detailed commitment about the future brand, app or subscription options.
The available post-close reporting does not determine whether HBO Max will remain a separate brand or product during or after integration.

What other streaming services are part of the deal?
The acquired portfolio is broader than Paramount+ and HBO Max. The AP reports that Discovery+ was also acquired and names Paramount+, Pluto TV and BET+ among Paramount’s services. The cited coverage does not specify how these services will be integrated, if at all.

In 2026 reporting, the AP attributed a roughly 14% combined U.S. streaming-market share for Paramount+ and HBO Max to JustWatch. The same comparison put Amazon Prime at 17% and Netflix at 19%. These are JustWatch figures as reported by the AP—not an audited subscriber count or proof that the merger will change prices, service quality or customer choices.
