Find out who bills your subscription
The billing provider determines where you must cancel. A subscription purchased directly from Paramount+ or Max is managed through that service’s account controls. If you subscribed through Apple, Google Play, Roku, a TV or internet provider, or another partner, you generally need to cancel with that provider instead.
Check the account and payment record
- For Max: Sign in and open Subscription from your profile menu. On a TV, open Settings, then Subscription. The page identifies the billing provider. Max’s cancellation instructions explain how the route depends on who bills you.
- For Paramount+: Check the account page at paramountplus.com/account. If it does not show the billing controls you need, check whether you subscribed through an app store or partner. Paramount’s U.S. terms require cancellation through the third party for third-party subscriptions.
- If you still cannot identify the biller, look at the payment descriptor on your bank or card statement, or ask your mobile, internet, or TV provider.
Cancel through the correct provider

Paramount+ billed directly
Open your Paramount+ account page and manage or cancel the recurring subscription. The cited U.S. terms say cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; for a free trial, it takes effect at the trial’s end. You can generally continue using paid time until cancellation takes effect, subject to the terms and any applicable refund exception.
Max billed directly
- Go to max.com/subscription and sign in.
- Select Cancel Your Subscription and complete the confirmation step.
- Record the expiration date displayed on the subscription page.
If the cancellation option is missing, check the billing provider listed on that page and cancel with that provider. Max says, “Deleting the Max app does not cancel your subscription.”

Subscriptions billed by an app store or partner
Follow the current cancellation instructions for the provider actually shown in the account. Max lists routes that include Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, Prime Video Channels in certain countries, and other internet, mobile, or TV providers. The available routes and steps vary by provider and geography; do not assume a procedure for one platform applies to another. Paramount+ likewise directs customers with third-party billing to the third party.
Cancel early enough to avoid renewal
Cancel as soon as you decide to stop the service rather than waiting for the last day. Paramount+ says subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the next renewal date or before a fully covered trial or promotion ends. Its cited materials do not set one universal number of hours to cancel in advance, so check the date and terms shown for your subscription.

Max says to cancel before the next billing date. It also warns that some providers require cancellation at least 24 hours before the next billing period begins; the cutoff varies by provider. Check the provider’s specific deadline and leave a buffer.

After canceling, check that the account shows a canceled status or an expiration date. Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot if one is available, and note the date your access ends. Max says access continues until the subscription expires at the end of the billing period.

If a Max charge arrives after you tried to cancel, check whether the subscription still appears active, whether you canceled close to the renewal cutoff, and whether another account has a separate subscription. If the charge remains unclear, contact the company shown as the biller; for Paramount+, start with the payment descriptor and the relevant provider. Do not assume that deleting an app, changing an account password, or blocking a payment cancels the recurring subscription.
