What changes when you rob someone?
In Red Dead Redemption, robbery is treated as a dishonorable act and can reduce Honor. Honor is separate from Fame; the walkthrough says low Honor can affect how ordinary people and outlaws treat you. It also says wearing a Bandana prevents Honor loss and Fame gain while it is on, but this detail comes from player-authored walkthrough guidance rather than official Rockstar documentation.

How does a robbery turn into a Wanted pursuit?
A crime can leave an eyewitness. If that person reaches a Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement may become involved and you can become Wanted. The eyewitness report is the key escalation described in the walkthrough; a robbery does not necessarily mean an immediate pursuit in every situation.
What is the difference between Wanted status and a Bounty?
Wanted status is the active search for you. Leaving the pursuit area can make that status fade, but it does not automatically remove an outstanding Bounty. The Bounty can continue to matter after you have escaped the immediate search, and a higher Bounty or greater chaos can bring stronger responses, including posses and bounty hunters.

What happens if you are caught?
The walkthrough says you can surrender if cornered. Capture means jail time, and the Bounty is paid from the money you are carrying. It also describes deputies as bribable, while marshals and bounty hunters are not; one guide example puts a deputy’s bribe at half the Bounty. These details and edge cases are walkthrough accounts, so exact behavior can depend on the game version or circumstances.
How can you clear a Bounty?
The walkthrough describes three routes: pay at a Telegraph Office, use a Pardon Letter, or be captured and have the Bounty paid from your carried cash. Escaping the Wanted search alone is not a fourth way to clear it.
