PlayVS Stadium is a digital platform for finding and organizing esports tournaments outside PlayVS’s structured school programs. Players do not need a school affiliation or a coach to participate, but age, location, game, and other eligibility rules depend on each event.
What is PlayVS Stadium?
PlayVS introduced Stadium on September 5, 2024, as a platform for community groups, organizations, and informal teams to compete in esports. The launch announcement described events that could be public, private, or hidden, with some simpler tournaments created by partners and more complex competitions managed by PlayVS. PlayVS’s launch announcement framed Stadium as an option beyond its school-based esports ecosystem.
PlayVS’s current Stadium page describes casual, community, and competitive tournaments, along with ongoing events and special experiences. Players may find rewards and prizes for participating or winning, though the terms depend on the event.
Do you need a school or coach to play?
No. PlayVS says players can use Stadium without being part of a school program or having a designated coach. Its current guidance recommends that students sign up with a personal email address rather than a school email. Requirements can still differ by tournament, so check the event listing before registering.

Who can sign up?
PlayVS says gamers over 13 can register independently, but that does not mean every tournament is open to every registrant. An event can set its own age, geographic, game, and team-format requirements. For example, the launch-era Upgrade Arena: Rocket League event was announced for U.S. and Canadian players aged 13–18, and did not require a school or coach.
How does Stadium work?
The platform is intended to bring tournament activity and team coordination together. A Stadium dashboard search snapshot described tools for creating and managing teams, communicating with opponents, and checking standings and schedules. The snapshot is partial and is not a definitive live calendar, so use Stadium itself to verify current events and registration status.

What tournaments are available now?

A dashboard snapshot surfaced Spring 2026 collegiate Street Fighter 6 qualifiers, but those are historical examples, not evidence that registration remains open. Check the listing for the specific event to confirm whether it is upcoming, who is eligible, and how to enter.
What did PlayVS announce at launch?
The clearest launch example was Upgrade Arena: Rocket League, a 3v3 tournament announced to begin September 22, 2024, for U.S. and Canadian players aged 13–18. It illustrated Stadium’s aim of offering competition without a school or coach requirement; it should not be treated as a current event.

In the launch announcement, PlayVS CEO Jon Chapman said the company wanted to increase access to esports and that Stadium removed more barriers for players. The release also cited company figures of more than 250,000 matches enabled and more than 900 state champions crowned since 2018. These are PlayVS-reported figures as of September 2024, not independent measurements of Stadium participation. The same announcement reported that 83% of coaches had noted enhanced student leadership skills and 57% of students said esports made them feel part of a community; it did not identify the underlying survey, sample, or fielding year, and these figures do not measure Stadium outcomes.
