Thank Goodness You’re Here! is a single-player comedy adventure set in Barnsworth, a bizarre Northern English town. You play a traveling salesman who arrives early for a meeting with the mayor, then fills the wait by exploring town and taking on increasingly strange jobs for its residents.
What do you do in Thank Goodness You’re Here!?
Developer Coal Supper and publisher Panic describe the game as a “comedy slapformer.” Its central activity is roaming Barnsworth, meeting its eccentric residents and helping them with odd requests. Those encounters—not a complex combat system or a conventional sales simulation—are the premise’s focus.
The jobs build the game’s comic tour of the town: each is another chance to encounter its unusual characters and absurd situations. The official press kit calls Barnsworth “the bizarre Northern English town” at the heart of the story. It also describes the soundtrack as “oddly moving” and says the game uses authentic regional dialects; those are the creators’ own descriptions.

Steam lists August 1, 2024 as the release date. The official press kit lists December 9, 2025 for the Xbox release. The official PlayStation Store also lists PS4 and PS5 versions. Is Thank Goodness You’re Here! suitable for children?
The official game site gives it an ESRB Mature 17+ rating and cites strong language and mature humor. That is a clear signal that it is not intended for young children. Parents and players should consider those content descriptors when deciding whether the game is appropriate for them.

It is a natural fit if you want a compact-feeling comic premise built around exploring a distinctive town, meeting its residents and responding to their odd jobs. Its advertised appeal is its silliness, local characters and humor. If you are choosing where to play, the confirmed options span console, handheld and computer platforms; the available sources do not support a performance or feature comparison between them.
