There is no universally best aspect ratio in Rainbow Six Siege. Try 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9, then keep the view that feels clear and comfortable and lets you aim consistently. Ubisoft’s guidance uses aspect ratio in field-of-view and ADS sensitivity calculations, but neither that guidance nor the cited pro settings establish one winning ratio.
What aspect ratio changes in R6
Aspect ratio is the relationship between a display resolution’s width and height: divide the width by the height to get the ratio. Ubisoft’s Guide to ADS Sensitivity in Y5S3 uses 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 as examples and explains how aspect ratio factors into field-of-view and ADS sensitivity conversion.
That makes aspect ratio relevant to how the game presents its view and to sensitivity calculations. It does not establish that any ratio makes targets easier to hit or improves performance for every player. Treat differences in apparent shape or target size as things to assess in your own view, not as guaranteed advantages.
How to compare common ratios
There is no reliable statistic in the cited sources showing one ratio is objectively best. Use the options below as a preference comparison, not as a performance ranking.

| Ratio | What to assess |
|---|---|
| 4:3 | Whether the view’s shape and perceived target size feel natural to you, and whether you can aim comfortably. |
| 16:10 | Whether this view feels like a comfortable middle ground between the other options for your FOV preference and aiming. |
| 16:9 | Whether this view feels clear and comfortable, and supports consistent aiming for you. |
The comparison criteria are personal checks, not measured advantages verified by the cited sources. A ratio that looks appealing in someone else’s setup may not suit your screen, FOV preference or aiming habits.
Do you need to change ADS sensitivity when you change ratio?
Not automatically. Ubisoft’s guide explains that aspect ratio is part of the context for FOV and ADS sensitivity conversion; it does not say every ratio change requires a sensitivity adjustment. If your aim feels different after changing the view, make deliberate adjustments and evaluate them rather than assuming a particular conversion will improve your aim.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
To change ADS sensitivity, Ubisoft Help directs players to the in-game Options and Controls menus. Follow Ubisoft’s ADS sensitivity instructions for the available mouse or controller controls.
Ubisoft’s 2019 FOV and Input Sensitivity explanation says the horizontal and vertical mouse sensitivity sliders ran from 1 to 100, defaulted to 50, and affected aim when changed. That is background on the slider system, not a current recommended sensitivity or ratio-specific setting.
Rank #3
- Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
- Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
- Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
- Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.
How to choose a ratio you can stick with
- Choose one ratio to try and use the same FOV and sensitivity while you assess it.
- Pay attention to whether the view feels clear and comfortable and whether the perceived target size and shape suit you.
- Check whether you can aim consistently across the situations you usually play, rather than judging by one moment or by appearance alone.
- If you change ADS sensitivity, do so deliberately through the in-game Controls settings and assess the result before making another change.
- Compare another ratio under the same conditions. Keep the one you can use comfortably and consistently.
Are pro settings proof that a ratio is best?
No. Intel’s Rainbow Six Siege Settings Recommendations from a Pro presents one player’s setup as an example, while ProSettings’ Rainbow Six Siege Pro Settings and Gear List shows variation among players. Those examples can give you a starting point to test, but they do not prove that copying a pro’s ratio will improve your aim or performance.
