For a safer solo playstyle, Necromancer is a sensible starting point: its summons can draw frontline pressure while you attack from range. That is a playstyle recommendation, not proof it leads every current solo ranking. If fast movement and general PvE farming matter more, compare Tempest; if you want range and summon support, start with Necromancer. There is no established universal best class across every solo activity.
What does “solo” mean in Diablo Immortal?
The best choice depends on whether you mean progressing without a party, farming quickly, surviving mistakes, or completing a specific solo mode. Class performance also depends on the activity, build, gear, account power and execution. A current editorial tier list updated July 15, 2026, names Tempest and Wizard among strong general PvE choices, but it is not an official Blizzard ranking or a controlled head-to-head solo test. ExpCarry’s class tier list discusses those activity and build qualifications.
So treat class rankings as a starting point, not a guarantee. A well-built class suited to the activity can be a better choice than a class placed higher in a broad PvE list.
Which class should you try for your solo playstyle?
| Priority | Class to consider | Why it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| Safer ranged play with a frontline buffer | Necromancer | Summons can take pressure while you deal damage at range. This is the clearest safety-oriented solo rationale in the available solo-specific guide, which dates to 2022—not a current balance ranking. |
| Fast movement and general PvE farming | Tempest | A 2026 editorial PvE guide includes Tempest among strong general PvE choices. That does not establish it as best for every solo activity. |
| Ranged play and general PvE | Wizard | The same 2026 guide includes Wizard among strong general PvE options; the right build and activity still matter. |
| Durable play or area damage | Barbarian or Crusader | A Windows Central solo guide from June 1, 2022, recommended these alongside Necromancer, citing Barbarian’s area damage and Undying Rage, and Crusader’s durability and mobility. Use that as historical context, not current roster-wide ranking. |
| Trying a new summon-focused class | Warlock | Blizzard introduced Warlock as Diablo Immortal’s tenth class in 2026. Its Soulgorger companion fights alongside the player and can restore some Life when the player falls below a threshold; that design alone does not prove it is a solo winner. |
The current roster is broader than older guides suggest: Blizzard identifies Warlock as the tenth class. See the official 2026 Warlock update and Blizzard’s class overview for the game’s class options.

How to choose for your own solo goal
- For fewer moments under direct pressure: try Necromancer and see whether summons give you the space you want. Summons still require an effective build; they are not a guarantee of safety.
- For farming pace: compare movement, area coverage and how quickly your build handles the content you actually repeat. Tempest is worth testing if mobility is a priority, but the available evidence does not establish a universal farming winner.
- For a particular solo activity: choose around that activity rather than a general PvE tier list. Results can change with Legendary Essences, Legendary Gems, set items, Paragon choices and Combat Rating.
- For range versus melee: decide which feel you enjoy and can execute consistently. A class’s theoretical strength is less useful if its positioning or combat rhythm does not suit you.
Can you change class if your first pick is wrong?
Blizzard’s class-change announcement says the feature unlocks at level 35, allows a free change once every seven days, and includes a one-time immediate revert option. The announcement also says social affiliations carry over while some class-specific cosmetics and gear do not transfer in the same way. These are rules in a 2022 announcement, not a current verification; check the in-game class-change screen before planning around the exact interval or transfer behavior. Is Warlock worth trying solo?
Warlock is a recent option, but its arrival is not evidence that it is the best solo class. Blizzard’s official preview describes a Soulgorger demon companion and a solo roguelike Fractured Plane, as well as a trial dungeon with preset builds. These modes can offer a way to sample the class, but the event-based content is limited-time; check in-game availability. Details are in Blizzard’s Warlock preview.

Bottom line: start with the activity, then test a build
Choose Necromancer if ranged combat and summons absorbing some frontline pressure sound appealing. Compare Tempest if fast movement and general PvE farming are your main priorities. Wizard is another current general PvE option to consider. None is proven best for every solo activity, and older solo rankings should not be treated as current balance data. Use the class that fits your goal, then judge it with an appropriate build and the content you actually play.
