There is no single best talisman for every colossal weapon build in Elden Ring. Choose according to the attacks you use most and the problem you need to solve: Two-Handed Sword Talisman for regular two-handed attacks, Axe Talisman for charged heavies, Claw Talisman for jump attacks, or utility and defensive talismans when equipment load, survival, or stamina is the bigger concern.
Choose by your attack pattern or build constraint
| Build need | Talisman | Why it fits | Important caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular two-handed attacks | Two-Handed Sword Talisman | A reviewed build guide lists a 15% increase to attacks with two-handed weapons. | The guide identifies it as Shadow of the Erdtree content, so it is not an option without that DLC. Elden Ring Guide |
| Charged heavy attacks | Axe Talisman | It enhances charge attacks, making it a fit when charged heavies are a regular part of your plan. | Less relevant if you rarely charge attacks. Elden Ring Guide |
| Jump attacks | Claw Talisman | A strength-build guide recommends it for jump-heavy Giant-Crusher play. | Its value depends on using jump attacks frequently. PC Gamer Tarnished Wiki |
| Weapon and armor make equipment load difficult | Great-Jar’s Arsenal | A Giant-Crusher build guide recommends it as equipment-load support. | It addresses carrying capacity rather than a particular attack. PC Gamer |
| Physical hits are the main cause of deaths | Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman | Build guides recommend it for physical defense. | It uses a slot that could otherwise provide offense. Elden Ring Guide PC Gamer |
| Stamina limits dodges or follow-up swings | Green Turtle Talisman | A secondary item reference describes it as supporting stamina recovery. | The cited reference is not an official item database. Item reference |
| You can reliably remain at full HP | Ritual Sword Talisman | Build and item references describe attack-power support while HP is full. | Taking damage ends the full-HP condition, so its benefit may be inconsistent. Elden Ring Guide Item reference |
What to use for a Giant-Crusher build
Giant-Crusher is one example of a colossal-weapon setup, not a template for every weapon. Tarnished Wiki’s 2026 guide lists a 60 Strength requirement, 26.5 weight, and a location in a carriage chest in Altus Plateau; it suggests Great-Jar’s Arsenal and Claw Talisman for jump-attack builds. Tarnished Wiki
Other suggested options address different playstyles: Axe Talisman for charged attacks, Dragoncrest Greatshield for physical protection, and Ritual Sword for attack power while at full HP. The Two-Handed Sword Talisman is a later DLC option in the reviewed build guide. Treat these as alternatives to choose among, not a required four-talisman set. Elden Ring Guide
PC Gamer’s Giant Crusher build lists Claw Talisman, Ritual Sword Talisman, and Great-Jar’s Arsenal. It says the build can work with other colossal weapons, while dual-wielding calls for enough Endurance to carry the extra weight. Its final slot can instead provide damage reduction or stamina regeneration. PC Gamer

DLC and patch context
The Two-Handed Sword Talisman is identified as a Shadow of the Erdtree talisman in the reviewed guide. If you do not have the DLC, choose an available talisman that supports your attack pattern or survival needs instead; you do not need this specific talisman to make a colossal-weapon build.
Bandai Namco’s official patch notes for version 1.04, dated 2022-04-19 and covering PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, documented historical changes: “Increased Colossal Swords/Colossal weapons attack speed and lowered their recovery time. Jump attack not included.” The notes also said, “Increased the two-handed attack damage of Colossal Swords/Colossal Weapons. Jump attack not included.” They further reported a decrease to the Greatshield Talisman effect for weapons with high block rate. These notes establish what changed in version 1.04, not the current patch state. Bandai Namco 1.04 patch notes
