Use bb.moveobjects on in The Sims 4’s cheat console to remove normal object-placement restrictions. Enable cheats with testingcheats true first, then place objects in Build Mode.
How to turn on the move objects cheat
- Open the cheat console. On PC or Mac, press
Ctrl+Shift+C. On PlayStation, pressL1+L2+R1+R2together. On Xbox, pressLB+LT+RB+RTtogether. See EA Help’s platform instructions. - Enter
testingcheats trueand press Enter. - Enter
bb.moveobjects onand press Enter. EA lists this command as removing restrictions on item placement in its cheats FAQ. - In Build Mode, select an object and place it where you want within the lot.
What the cheat changes—and what it does not
bb.moveobjects on lets you position objects more freely, including placements the usual grid restrictions prevent. EA describes placement anywhere inside the lot; it does not guarantee that every overlap or unusual placement will remain usable during gameplay. Switch to Live Mode and check routing or interactions when function matters.
This command is different from bb.enablefreebuild, which enables building on locked lots. Use the move-objects command for placement restrictions.
How to raise or lower an object
Moving an object freely is not the same as adjusting its height. For vertical adjustment, pick up the object and use the platform-specific shortcuts given in EA community manager EA_Cade’s forum solution:

Ctrl+9raises the object;Ctrl+0lowers it. - Mac:
Command+9raises the object;Command+0lowers it.
If the raise shortcut does not work, a camera position saved to the 9 key may be conflicting with it. EA’s cheat troubleshooting FAQ notes this keybinding issue.
