The Grade Shop is where you spend Grade on bonuses in Tales of Graces f. In the original New Game+ flow, you choose bonuses and selected carry-over options for your next run. In Tales of Graces f Remastered, the shop is also accessible during a first playthrough, though some data-transfer choices are restricted.

How the Grade Shop works

Grade is the currency used to purchase options in the Grade Shop. Those options generally fall into two groups: gameplay modifiers that affect progression or combat, and carry-over choices that transfer selected data into another run. Which options are available—and their costs—depends on the release and playthrough stage, so use the menu in your copy as the final reference.

In the original New Game+ framing, players select bonuses for the next playthrough. Remastered changes the timing: Bandai Namco says, “The Grade Shop is now accessible during your first playthrough.” The shop’s appearance on a first run does not mean every carry-over effect is available then.

Can you use the Grade Shop on your first playthrough?

Yes, in Tales of Graces f Remastered. Bandai Namco’s announcement says that purchased effects are set to On by default and that certain effects can be turned off in the Options menu. It also says data-transfer-related effects, such as carrying character levels over, are unavailable during the first playthrough. The announcement does not say that every purchase can be reversed or toggled, so check the option’s description before buying.

This first-run access is a Remastered change; it should not be assumed to describe every version of Tales of Graces f.

What can you buy with Grade?

The available choices include progression boosts, combat modifiers, convenience effects, and data carry-over. The following costs are examples from named third-party guides, not a universal catalog. Confirm the exact options and prices in your release.

Option Cost What the cited guide says
Inherit Titles 30 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide.
Inherit Skills 2,500 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide.
Double Experience 90 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide; the guide says it stacks with 5x Experience.
5x Experience 400 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide; the guide says it stacks with Double Experience.
Double SP 200 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide.
Double Item Drops 120 Grade Listed in Gamer Guides’ Remastered guide.

A separate, undated Ethereal Games page for Tales of Graces f lists a different set of examples: Half Experience for 10 Grade; Double Critical and Double Damage for 30 each; Double Experience for 90; Double Gald for 70; Double Item Drops for 120; Double SP for 200; Triple SP for 1,000; and 5x Damage for 150. That page describes the shop as a New Game+ feature. Its figures should not be substituted for the Remastered list.

What should you buy?

Choose based on how you want the next stretch of play to feel, rather than treating the cheapest option as automatically best.

  • For faster progression: Look at experience or SP bonuses, and compare their costs and descriptions. The Gamer Guides list says Double Experience and 5x Experience stack, but do not assume stacking behavior for other options unless your menu or a reliable guide confirms it.
  • For a different combat challenge: Read the descriptions of damage and critical-hit modifiers carefully; such changes can make fights easier or harder depending on the effect.
  • For continuity between runs: Consider title, skill, book, or item carry-over when those options are available. First-playthrough restrictions in Remastered apply to data-transfer-related effects.
  • Before spending: Check the cost and effect in your version’s shop. Bandai Namco confirms that certain effects can be switched off in Options, but does not promise that all purchases are reversible.

For title and skill inheritance specifically, Gamer Guides cautions that selecting both preserves their prior EXP, while inheriting titles alone gives those titles zero progression. Treat this as guide-reported behavior and check the option details for your version.

How do you earn Grade?

Gamer Guides lists a range of Grade sources: clearing the game, acquiring titles, learning skills, using artes, completing books and side quests, achieving a largest combo, earning combat-tech bonuses, progressing through Zhonecage, finishing quickly, and meeting several challenge conditions. This is a guide’s reported list, not a publisher-issued exhaustive formula or a guaranteed total budget.

Which version’s information applies?

Bandai Namco’s official announcement is the clearest source for Remastered’s first-playthrough access and its stated restrictions. It does not give a full option catalog or Grade prices. Gamer Guides’ Remastered page indicates an update on 4 February 2025; Ethereal Games’ page is undated and does not specify a matching Remastered version. For release context, Bandai Namco America announced that Tales of Graces f Remastered was available on Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on 17 January 2025.
