For Cuphead or Mugman, Giant Ghost (Super Art III) has the highest listed damage ceiling: Cuphead Wiki.gg reports up to 147.9 damage if its hits connect. That is a reference-listed maximum, not a promise of typical damage in a fight. Invincibility (Super Art II) is the defensive choice, while Energy Beam (Super Art I) offers a direct attack. The most useful super depends on whether you need damage, survivability, or an attack you can land reliably.
How the three Super Arts compare for Cuphead and Mugman
These are different tools, so damage alone cannot rank all three. Cuphead Wiki.gg lists maximum damage figures for the two attacks; its descriptions distinguish them from Invincibility, which is for survival.

| Super Art | Role | What the reference reports | Practical trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy Beam (I) | Horizontal attack | Up to 87 damage, according to Cuphead Wiki.gg’s weapons list. | A straightforward beam, but its direction and coverage affect whether it connects. |
| Invincibility (II) | Defense | Temporary invulnerability; no comparable damage figure. | Useful for getting through danger, rather than competing with attacks on damage. |
| Giant Ghost (III) | Controllable attack | Up to 147.9 damage, according to Cuphead Wiki.gg’s weapons list. | The highest listed ceiling of these options, provided you guide the ghost and land its hits. |
The listed damage figures come from a community-maintained reference, not an official developer damage table or independent testing. Treat them as reported maxima, not guaranteed results in an ordinary encounter.
When Giant Ghost is the strongest choice
If you mean the highest listed damage ceiling for Cuphead or Mugman, choose Giant Ghost. Its theoretical advantage matters only when the attack connects: you have to control its path, and a boss’s position or movement can make that harder. A maximum-damage listing does not establish that it will deal more damage in every fight or for every player.

When another Super Art may serve you better
Choose Invincibility when survival is the priority
Invincibility is the defensive option. It is not a damage contender, but temporary invulnerability can matter more than a high attack ceiling when the immediate problem is surviving a dangerous section.
Consider Energy Beam for a direct attack
Energy Beam is a horizontal beam with a listed maximum of 87 damage. Its simpler attack description may appeal when you want a direct hit, but its direction and coverage still determine whether it reaches the target.

The game reference says Super Arts are activated after filling the meter with five cards. That cost is part of choosing when to use a super; the available figures do not establish boss-specific meter timing or prove which option has the best opportunity cost in a particular encounter.
Ms. Chalice has a separate set of Super Arts
Do not apply the Cuphead and Mugman ranking directly to Ms. Chalice. Her Super Arts are Spiral Pillar, Shield Pal, and Ghostly Barrage. Cuphead Wiki.gg describes Spiral Pillar as a vertical beam, Shield Pal as a protective familiar, and Ghostly Barrage as a spectral attack.

- Play as Cuphead or Mugman in single-player or local co-op, as you traverse strange worlds
- Meet a variety of bosses in a single game or local cooperative action
- Acquire new weapons, learn powerful and exciting moves, and reveal hidden secrets
- Defeat your enemies and win boss battles to pay your debt back to the devil!
- The game's completely traditional hand-drawn graphics and watercolor background in a combination with a jazz soundtrack provide a unique gaming experience
The weapons list reports up to 107.5 damage for Spiral Pillar and a variable maximum for Ghostly Barrage. Because the latter depends on the ghosts and target size, those figures do not provide a clean like-for-like ranking against Cuphead or Mugman’s Giant Ghost.
