Each release focuses on a different group of arcade games, and its included content can vary by title, region, platform, and whether you buy the base collection or add-on content.
The best-known collections covered here are Kyukyoku TigerHeli and Flying Fire Shark. M2 also has an official Zero Fire release, so these collections should not be treated as a complete or final catalog of the line.

What does Toaplan Arcade Garage include?
There is no single game list shared by every Toaplan Arcade Garage product. Each collection has its own core arcade titles and may offer additional games or ports separately. For a purchase, check the current listing for your platform and region rather than assuming a title mentioned in a collection’s name or description is included in its base edition.
Flying Fire Shark
The Flying Fire Shark collection centers on the Toaplan shooters Flying Shark and Fire Shark. M2’s base-content list includes the Japanese arcade releases Hishozame and Same! Same! Same!, international arcade Flying Shark and Fire Shark, North American arcade Sky Shark, a two-player arcade version of Same! Same! Same!, and the arcade puzzle game Teki-Paki. M2 lists other content separately as console versions plus Wardner DLC: the NES version of Sky Shark, Mega Drive Same! Same! Same!, Genesis Fire Shark, and regional and FDS versions of Wardner. See M2’s Flying Fire Shark content list.

Kyukyoku TigerHeli
Kyukyoku TigerHeli focuses on Kyukyoku Tiger—known internationally as Twin Cobra—and Tiger-Heli. M2 lists the console ports and Get Star/Guardian as DLC rather than core arcade content. Its product page gives territory-specific dates: May 16, 2024, for the US release, and February 26, 2026, for Europe and the rest of North America. M2 lists Switch and PS4 versions; check the relevant store for current availability and edition details. M2’s Kyukyoku TigerHeli page and PlayStation Store listing.

Other releases
M2’s official pages also document Zero Fire as a Toaplan Arcade Garage release. The official material cited here does not establish that the line’s catalog is complete or closed. M2’s Zero Fire page.
M2 says Teki-Paki, a 1991 arcade puzzle game, is distributed as a bonus with purchases of Toaplan Arcade Garage games and is not sold separately. That is the publisher’s stated policy, not a guarantee that every store, region, or future edition will handle the bonus identically; confirm what your listing includes. M2’s Teki-Paki page.

Which modern features make these games easier to play?
Official product descriptions document several aids, but features differ by collection. Arcade modes are intended to retain the original challenge; easier modes and practice options offer ways to learn without assuming the original arcade mode has been changed.
- Super Easy: An easier mode documented for these collections, useful if the arcade difficulty is a barrier.
- M2 Gadgets: Optional on-screen information and overlays can surface details such as offscreen threats or hidden features.
- Arcade Challenge: A training mode for practicing portions of a game. For Flying Fire Shark, M2 describes selecting individual stages or bosses, difficulty, and ship loadouts, with rewind available after a hit. Rewind is part of this practice mode; M2 does not describe it as a feature that rewrites the original arcade mode.
- Presentation and online options: M2 documents screen sizing, wallpapers, vertical screen rotation, online leaderboards, and replay downloads for Flying Fire Shark. Do not assume every option appears in every Garage game or on every platform.
Check the specific product page for the feature set on the platform you plan to use. Flying Fire Shark features, Kyukyoku TigerHeli details, and PlayStation listing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How do the game versions differ?
Compare the actual versions and edition contents, not just the collection title. M2 warns that included versions may differ from the originals in behavior, expressions, logos, or copyright notices. Its stated preservation caveat is: “We tried to keep the included games as close to their original form as possible, but please note that differences may be present in their behavior, expressions, logos or copyright notices etc.” M2’s Flying Fire Shark page and Kyukyoku TigerHeli page.
Quick Recap
Best Value

- Practice your skills in the Arcade Challenge modes!
- Try the Super Easy mode for a friendlier experience!
| What to compare | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Collection and core games | The Garage name covers separate releases, not one combined anthology. | Kyukyoku TigerHeli focuses on Tiger-Heli and Kyukyoku Tiger/Twin Cobra; Flying Fire Shark focuses on the Flying Shark and Fire Shark games. Zero Fire is another documented release. |
| Region and arcade variant | Regional names can refer to related games, and variants may differ in play. | Sky Shark is the North American arcade name in the Flying Fire Shark list. M2 identifies a Japanese two-player Fire Shark variant with difficulty somewhat toned down. |
| Base edition versus DLC | Some ports and games are add-ons rather than part of the base collection. | Flying Fire Shark lists console ports and Wardner as DLC; Kyukyoku TigerHeli lists console ports and Get Star/Guardian as DLC. |
| Platform and territory | Release dates, compatibility, language, and store availability may vary. | M2 lists Switch and PS4 versions for Kyukyoku TigerHeli; Nintendo’s listing covers Flying Fire Shark on Switch and specifies Switch 2 compatibility information. |
| Play and practice options | Convenience and training tools are title-specific. | Check whether the particular release offers Gadgets, Super Easy, Arcade Challenge, rewind, leaderboards, replays, screen scaling, or vertical display. |
What should you check before buying?
- Choose the game group. Decide whether you want the Tiger-Heli/Twin Cobra collection, the Flying Shark/Fire Shark collection, or a different Garage release.
- Open the exact regional store listing. Confirm platform, compatibility, language information, release status, and the edition currently offered.
- Separate base content from add-ons. Read the included-game list and DLC section; do not infer that a port or bonus is included because it appears on the collection’s product page.
- Check the version names. Look for Japanese, international, or North American variants and any two-player or console versions you specifically want.
- Match the features to your needs. If practice aids or vertical display matter, confirm they are listed for that title and platform rather than relying on features advertised for another Garage release.
