Other sites using the Who Are Ya name describe different rules, so the URL matters.
How does Who Are Ya work?
In the whoareya.app version, enter a footballer’s name as a guess. The game compares that player with the mystery answer and returns color-coded clues for attributes such as nationality, club, age, shirt number, and height. Use the clues to refine your next guess until you identify the answer.
The site says its name search ignores accents, so entering “Vinicius” can find Vinícius Júnior. The current description says guesses are unlimited; the aim is to solve the puzzle in as few guesses as possible.
What do the colors and arrows mean?
- Green: the attribute matches exactly.
- Amber: the attribute is close, with the meaning depending on the column: nationality indicates the same continent; club means the players have both played for that club; age means a difference of two years; shirt number means a difference of three; and height means a difference of three centimetres.
- Grey: the attribute does not match.
Arrows in numerical columns indicate whether the mystery player’s value is higher or lower than the value for your guess. The profile panel can help you keep track of narrowing ranges as you play. These color and clue definitions are those given in the whoareya.app description.

Is Who Are Ya free, and when does it reset?
The whoareya.app description presents the game as free to play in a browser, without a download or signup. It says the daily puzzle is shared globally and changes at 00:00 UTC. A 00:00 UTC reset may fall on the previous local calendar date for players west of the prime meridian.
Are all Who Are Ya games the same?
No. More than one site uses the Who Are Ya name, and the available descriptions do not establish that they are the same deployment. Their reported formats differ:

No. Pro Game Guides writer Bethany Barber stated in an article updated June 9, 2025: “To keep it simple, no, Who Are Ya? is not an official Wordle game.” The whoareya.app description also says the game is not endorsed by clubs, leagues, or governing bodies. It is best understood as a separate football guessing game inspired by Wordle’s daily puzzle format.
