That is Roblox’s standard own-pass, own-game split, not a guarantee that every pass sale uses the same allocation.
How much does a creator earn from a game pass?
Roblox’s Creator Hub says that when you sell your own pass in your game, you earn 70% of the Robux spent. The remaining 30% is Roblox’s Marketplace Fee. Roblox’s monetization overview and its “How do I make money?” guide describe this standard split.

For example, if a player spends 100 Robux on your pass in your game, you receive 70 Robux and Roblox’s fee is 30 Robux. This example assumes the standard sale arrangement; other sale locations and price adjustments can change the details.
What changes the payout?
Another creator’s pass sold in a game
When a game sells a pass made by another creator, Roblox’s overview describes a different allocation: 10% goes to the game owner as an affiliate fee, while 60% goes to the pass’s original creator. Do not apply the standard 70% own-pass split to this case. Roblox says cross-game pass sales will be disabled starting May 30, 2026, so this arrangement is time-limited under the published policy. See Roblox’s monetization overview and Passes documentation.

Regional pricing and Roblox Plus discounts
Managed regional pricing is enabled by default for new and existing passes. A regional price can be lower than the default price, by up to 70%, but cannot be higher. Because the creator’s share is based on the Robux spent, the buyer’s region-adjusted price matters to the amount earned per sale. Roblox’s regional-pricing guidance explains the setting.
Roblox also says it subsidizes eligible discounts for Roblox Plus purchases, so those discounts do not reduce the creator’s earnings per purchase. Roblox Plus documentation covers how prices are handled.

What a game pass is—and what it is not
A pass is a one-time Robux purchase that grants a privilege in an experience, such as entry to a restricted area or a permanent power-up. It suits benefits granted once or permanently. If players should be able to buy something repeatedly, Roblox categorizes that as a developer product rather than a pass. Roblox’s Passes page explains the distinction.
Robux earnings are not automatically cash
The 70% figure is a share of Robux spent, not a cash payout rate. Eligible creators may exchange earned Robux through Roblox’s Developer Exchange (DevEx) program. Roblox’s “How do I make money?” page states a minimum of 30,000 earned Robux to submit a cash-out request; eligibility requirements also apply. Check Roblox’s DevEx and monetization guidance for the program terms.

Setting a pass price
Creators configure passes through the Creator Dashboard. Roblox’s Passes documentation says the price entered affects Robux earned per sale and lists a minimum price of 1 Robux and a maximum of 1 billion Robux. Those are documented price limits, not a recommendation for what to charge. Review the current Passes setup guidance before changing a pass or relying on a specific price display.
