Rockstar has not published a platform list, release date, or edition details for a third game. Take-Two’s latest published future lineup identified here, dated May 21, 2026, does not include Red Dead Redemption 3. Any claim that it is confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, iPhone, Android, or another system is speculation rather than publisher-confirmed information.
The current official answer
The most accurate answer is that Red Dead Redemption 3 is not announced for any platform. That is narrower, and more useful, than saying the game is cancelled or that it will never appear on a particular system. The official material available for this question simply does not provide an RDR3 platform announcement.

Take-Two Interactive’s May 21, 2026 fiscal 2026 results release presents an announced future lineup. Red Dead Redemption 3 is not an entry in that lineup. The omission establishes that the title was not listed in that published slate; it does not reveal whether a private project exists, whether development has started, or what hardware might eventually be targeted.

Why recent platform headlines do not confirm RDR3
Many search results combine “Red Dead Redemption” with the number three, creating an easy source of confusion. The recent platform news concerns the original Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion, not a new sequel.
Rockstar’s November 13, 2025 announcement names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Netflix, iOS, and Android for that existing game package. It does not announce Red Dead Redemption 3. The mobile and console information therefore cannot be transferred to an unannounced sequel.
Take-Two’s February 3, 2026 fiscal third-quarter results likewise records the earlier game and Undead Nightmare on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, alongside a Netflix version on iOS and Android. The listed release date for those versions is December 2, 2025. That date belongs to the existing title’s releases, not to RDR3.
Officially named platforms for the existing Red Dead Redemption release
| Platform or service | What the official announcement covers | Relevant date |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare | December 2, 2025 |
| Xbox Series X|S | Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare | December 2, 2025 |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare | December 2, 2025 |
| iOS and Android | Mobile version associated with the existing game and Undead Nightmare | December 2, 2025 |
| Netflix | Service availability associated with the mobile release | December 2, 2025 |
Every row in this table is about the earlier Red Dead Redemption release. None is an RDR3 platform confirmation.
Platform-by-platform status for Red Dead Redemption 3
PlayStation 5
PS5 is not confirmed for RDR3. Its appearance in Rockstar’s 2025 Red Dead announcement relates to the original game and Undead Nightmare. A current-generation port is evidence of support for that release only; it is not a statement about the hardware plan for a future sequel.
Xbox Series X|S
Xbox Series X|S is not confirmed for RDR3. Take-Two’s February 2026 results list those consoles for the earlier Red Dead Redemption release, while the May 2026 future lineup does not list RDR3. No Xbox edition, optimization target, or launch timing has been announced for the third game.
Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 is not confirmed for RDR3. The Switch 2 information published in November 2025 concerns the existing game and Undead Nightmare. A publisher would need to name Switch 2 in an RDR3 announcement before its inclusion could be treated as fact.

PC
There is no official RDR3 PC announcement in the material reviewed. Statements that the game is “coming to PC,” will launch on PC later, or will be exclusive to consoles are all unverified. The absence of a listing is not proof that PC support will never happen; it means no supported release has been announced.
iPhone and Android
iOS and Android are named for the mobile version of the existing Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare release. They are not confirmed platforms for RDR3. Mobile requirements, controller support, file size, subscription access, and device compatibility for a hypothetical sequel have not been published.
Other consoles and services
No other platform or service can be described as confirmed for RDR3 from the cited official announcements. That includes previous-generation consoles, cloud services, handheld PCs, and any future hardware. A platform should be treated as confirmed only when Rockstar or Take-Two names it in an announcement, store listing, investor release, or similarly authoritative publication tied specifically to RDR3.
What the Take-Two lineup does—and does not—tell us
Take-Two’s May 21, 2026 results release is useful because it is the latest official future lineup identified for this question. Its failure to include RDR3 means readers should not present the title as part of that announced slate. It does not answer whether Rockstar is privately planning the game, when it might be revealed, or which platforms could be technically feasible.

The same release contains corporate outlook language about fiscal 2027 and the November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. That business statement concerns Take-Two’s portfolio and GTA VI; it is not a quote about RDR3 and cannot be used to infer a sequel’s platform strategy. Financial statistics elsewhere in a corporate release also do not establish hardware support for an unannounced game.
This distinction matters because publisher lineups are time-sensitive. A title can be absent from one lineup and announced later, or appear first in a separate Rockstar newswire post. The responsible conclusion is therefore date-qualified: RDR3 was not listed in the May 21, 2026 lineup reviewed, and no RDR3 platform list appears in the official announcements cited here.
How to evaluate future platform claims
When a rumor, retailer page, social-media post, or video claims to know the platforms, check whether it meets all of the following tests:
Rank #3
- Get exclusive access to a bank robbery mission
- A collection of exclusive story mode boosts, bonuses and discounts
- Get three weapons Free at gunsmiths
- Title-specific wording: the announcement must refer to Red Dead Redemption 3, not the 2010 game, Undead Nightmare, or the Red Dead series generally.
- First-party or publisher source: prioritize a Rockstar Newswire post, a Take-Two investor release, or an official store listing controlled by the publisher.
- Explicit platform names: “next generation” or “console” is not enough to identify PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, PC, or mobile.
- Release context: distinguish worldwide launch platforms from a later port, cloud version, subscription version, or territory-limited edition.
- Edition identity: verify whether a listing is for the base game, a bundle, a remaster, an expansion, or a similarly named older release.
- Date and region: record the announcement date and the markets covered, since availability can differ between regions and storefronts.
A retailer page, database entry, trademark filing, job advertisement, or anonymous insider post may be a lead, but none is a substitute for a platform announcement. Until a primary source confirms the system, describe it as a rumor or possibility, not a release fact.
What a genuine RDR3 platform announcement should include
A useful announcement would do more than list a console logo. Readers should look for several separate pieces of information:
Confirmed systems and launch timing
The publisher should identify each launch platform and say whether releases are simultaneous. If PC or mobile arrives later, that timing should be stated separately rather than implied by a broad “available on” headline.
Edition and upgrade details
A platform notice may distinguish standard and special editions, digital and physical versions, cross-generation entitlements, or paid upgrades. Those details cannot be inferred from the fact that the earlier game received a port.
Performance and feature information
Frame-rate modes, resolution targets, ray tracing, save transfers, accessibility features, online requirements, and controller functions should be treated as confirmed only when the publisher documents them. Hardware names alone do not establish any of those specifications.
Store and regional availability
Official information should clarify which storefronts carry the game and whether launch access varies by country. A platform can be announced globally while a physical edition, language option, or mobile release is limited to selected regions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why console-generation predictions remain uncertain
Predicting platforms from industry timing is unreliable. A sequel might target current hardware, support more than one generation, launch on PC simultaneously, or arrive on additional systems later. None of those scenarios is established for RDR3.

- When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends.
- Experience Marston’s journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico as he fights to bury his blood-stained past in the critically acclaimed adventure.
- Also included is Undead Nightmare, the ground-breaking horror story expansion that transforms the world of Red Dead Redemption into an apocalyptic fight for survival against a zombie horde.
- Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation
The 2025 release of the original Red Dead Redemption on newer consoles demonstrates that Rockstar can bring an older title to current hardware. It does not reveal the technology, scope, or launch plan of a new sequel. Likewise, the existence of mobile versions for the earlier game does not establish that a future open-world production would run on phones or tablets.
Readers should also separate technical possibility from commercial confirmation. A platform may be capable of running a game, yet the publisher may choose not to support it at launch. Conversely, a platform absent from an early announcement could receive a later port. Only a title-specific statement resolves that uncertainty.

The decisive update would be a Rockstar Newswire announcement or a Take-Two release that names Red Dead Redemption 3 directly. Once that happens, compare only the systems, dates, editions, performance features, physical-versus-digital options, and regional restrictions explicitly stated in that announcement.
Until then, the reliable platform status is simple: Red Dead Redemption 3 has no announced platforms. The PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android information currently circulating belongs to the earlier Red Dead Redemption release and should not be presented as evidence for a third game.
