There is no single best Poké Ball for Regice in every Pokémon game: availability and ball effects vary by version. If your game offers them, a Timer Ball becomes a strong choice after the battle has lasted long enough, while a Dusk Ball can be useful when its time or location condition is met. Lower Regice’s HP and inflict a status condition when you can do so safely.
Choose by your game and the battle conditions
Pokémon Support notes that the kinds of Poké Balls available differ between games, so a recommendation for one version may not apply to another. Check which balls your game offers and the conditions for their effects before choosing. The Regice-specific recommendations below are conditional, not a universal ranking: Thonky’s Regice reference lists Timer Balls after 30 turns and Dusk Balls in caves or from 8:00 p.m. to 3:59 a.m. in the conditions it presents. Confirm those effects in the game you are playing.
For a prolonged battle, consider a Timer Ball once its turn requirement is met. Use a Dusk Ball only if the applicable location or time condition is active. If neither condition fits, use the strongest generally available ball in your version rather than assuming one named ball is always best.
Improve your odds before throwing
Reducing Regice’s HP and inflicting a status condition can improve capture chances under the Generation 3–4 mechanics described by Smogon’s capture mechanics reference. Weaken it carefully: avoid using attacks that could knock it out, and choose a status move your team can apply safely. These steps improve your chances but do not guarantee a catch.

Regice is listed with a catch rate of 3 in the Generation 3 Pokédex data from Pokémon Database, which reports a 0.4% chance with a regular Poké Ball at full HP. That figure is specific to the cited Generation 3 context; it is not a universal probability for every game.
When to use a Master Ball
A Master Ball is the certain-capture option in the context covered by The Pokémon Company International’s legendary Pokémon catching advice, which says Master Balls capture any Pokémon without fail. The same advice calls them the rarest Poké Balls and recommends using them carefully. Save one for Regice if certainty is more important to you than keeping it for a later encounter.

The game-specific reference available for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl applies to those games only. It should not be taken as a guide to every title featuring Regice. If you are unsure whether a ball’s effect applies, use the description or in-game guidance for your version.
