If “Schedule 1” means Schedule I under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act, this is not a recipe or mixing guide: do not use it to prepare or manufacture a controlled substance. Schedule I describes a legal classification, and research involving Schedule I substances requires authorization. If you mean a video-game crafting schedule, spreadsheet, or another system, the title does not identify the game or ingredients needed for practical instructions.
What Schedule I means in U.S. federal law
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) describes Schedule I substances as having no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States and a high potential for abuse. Scheduling is a legal classification—not a set of instructions for handling or combining substances.
The Controlled Substances Act framework considers medical use, abuse potential, and safety or dependence liability. DEA’s overview describes eight statutory factors, including pharmacological evidence, current scientific knowledge, public-health risk, dependence liability, and whether a substance is an immediate precursor. See the DEA overview of the scheduling factors.
Schedule I status depends on the substance and can change
A DEA list is a general reference, not a comprehensive inventory. A substance’s absence from a list by itself does not establish that it is uncontrolled. Status can also change over time and may depend on the exact substance or formulation. For any specific substance, check current law, the applicable DEA listing, and any operative scheduling order and effective date.

- Convenient Documentation Storage - Makes it easy to comply with audits and regulations like 21 U.S.C. 827 (b), 21 U.S.C. 827 (c)-DEA, and 42 CFR 483.60-CMS
- All Your Documentation in One Place - Makes it easy to track things like intake and usage; keep your records together for DEA audits
- Controlled Substance Logging - Makes it easy to track drugs intake and expenditure; helps track things like loss and destruction
- High Page Count Makes Tracking Easy - Makes it easy to track prescriptions and narcotics during the entire retention period
- Great for Tracking - Schedule 2 intakes from the pharmacy, narcotic emergency drug kit usage, and the count of narcotic emergency drug kits at the beginning and end of each shift
For example, DEA announced on July 1, 2026, notices of intent to temporarily schedule specified 7-OH-related substances. Its announcement distinguishes botanical kratom with naturally occurring 7-OH below the stated threshold. That announcement alone should not be treated as a substitute for checking the operative order and its effective date. See the DEA announcement concerning 7-OH-related substances.
Research involving Schedule I substances requires authorization
DEA says research on Schedule I substances requires DEA registration. In a January 18, 2018 release, the agency said applicants provide their qualifications, a research protocol, and the institution where the work will take place. Those details come from a historical release; verify current application requirements and procedures directly with DEA before acting. See the DEA research registration release.

The same release reported that more than 590 researchers were registered with DEA to study Schedule I substances as of December 2017. That is a historical count, not a current estimate. DEA Acting Administrator Robert W. Patterson said in the release, “Research is the bedrock of science, and we will-as we have for many years-continue to support and promote legitimate research with Schedule I controlled substances.”
If you meant a game or another kind of schedule
The title does not name a video game, product, ingredient list, or game mode, so it is not possible to identify a valid in-game mixing recipe. “Schedule 1” may refer to something other than federal drug scheduling. To get specific instructions, identify the game or system and the exact product and ingredients. Do not infer a recipe from the legal meaning of Schedule I.
Jurisdiction and legal limits
This explanation covers the federal-law interpretation in the United States; it does not establish state-law requirements or resolve the status of any particular product. It is not legal advice. For a real research project, confirm the current federal requirements with DEA and consult qualified counsel about applicable federal and state law.
