A now-disappeared retailer listing reportedly claimed Grand Theft Auto VI would launch on September 17, 2025. That date was never confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two, and it has passed. The current official schedule is November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What date did the GTA 6 leak claim?
On January 30, 2025, Tom’s Guide reported that Uruguayan online retailer XUruguay had listed Wednesday, September 17, 2025, as the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. The listing was no longer available when the report was published, and Rockstar and Take-Two had not commented on the claim. It was an unconfirmed retailer listing, not an official announcement. Tom’s Guide’s report also relayed the retailer’s claim that it worked directly with PlayStation; that secondhand explanation did not independently verify the date.

As of October 8, 2026, Take-Two, Rockstar Support, and PlayStation list November 19, 2026, as the scheduled launch date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two announced pre-orders and the date in June 2026; Rockstar Support’s page was updated August 18, 2026. This is the current announced schedule, not a guarantee that the date cannot change. Is the physical version a disc?
No. Rockstar Support says the physical box contains a digital download code, not a disc. Code redemption may be subject to platform-account region restrictions. Take-Two’s June 2026 announcement said the boxed version would be available from retailers starting November 12, 2026, ahead of the November 19 launch to support preloading. Verify the exact retailer’s terms and regional availability before ordering.
What do the editions cost?
Take-Two’s June 2026 announcement listed these United States prices. They are the announced US prices, not a verified price from any specific retailer or a promise of the same price in other regions.

No verified date change follows from the separate reports about purported gameplay clips in August 2026. Axios reported that Rockstar had not authenticated that footage; it is distinct from the XUruguay retailer listing reported in 2025 and is not evidence of a revised launch date. The official pages cited above continue to list November 19, 2026.
