Helix Rifts are missions where some of those rewards could be collected. These descriptions explain the menu’s intended functions; they do not confirm that every legacy online feature still works today.
What is the Helix menu?
It is a collection of in-game reference, store, and connected-service features—not one single currency or activity. The menu’s sections have distinct purposes, and some were designed to connect Unity to online services.

What does each Helix menu section do?
Database: information about the game world
The Database is Unity’s reference feature for historical context and information about people, places, and things encountered in the simulation. The official Assassin’s Creed Unity manual, section 8.6, describes it this way: “The Database contains historical background and useful information on the people, places, and things you’ll encounter in the simulation.”
EStore: Helix Credits, promotions, and content
The manual’s section 8.7 describes the EStore as a place to purchase Helix Credits and redeem promotional codes and game content. Helix Credits could be exchanged for new weapons, equipment, and boosts. The Xbox Store listing for a Unity Helix Credits Small Pack separately describes the credits as unlocking items and hacks in the in-game store.

Initiates: profile-linked rewards and tasks
Initiates was documented as a profile feature offering rewards such as Legacy Outfits and Artifacts, as well as daily tasks in Assassin’s Creed games. It was meant to connect a player profile with rewards rather than serve as another name for Helix Credits.
Helix Rifts: missions with collectible artifacts
Prima’s Assassin’s Creed Unity guide discusses Initiates and Companion App artifacts in connection with collectibles found in Helix Rifts. This situates those artifacts within Rift missions; it does not establish the present availability of the services that originally linked them to player accounts.

Do the Initiates link and Helix store still work?
The available documentation establishes what these features were designed to do, but not whether every legacy Initiates connection, account-linked reward, or Helix Credit purchase is currently available on every platform and in every region. Treat access to online links and store functions as platform- and region-dependent, and check the game’s own menus or your platform’s store for what is currently accessible.
Ubisoft’s current Assassin’s Creed Unity page presents the game, its customization and co-op features, and a 60 FPS update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not confirm the status of Initiates or Helix Credit purchasing.
