- Season announcement, July 30, 2025. EA’s official Showdown announcement previewed the season’s Wildcard system, Legend changes, Amps, the RE-45 Burst, and E-District updates. The EA season page carried the line “NEW SEASON COMING AUGUST 5TH.”
- Season listing. EA’s seasons page lists Showdown as Season 26 with dates of August 5 to November 3, 2025.
- Patch notes, dated August 4, 2025. The official Showdown patch notes list activities beginning August 5, which is consistent with the launch date.
None of these EA materials gives an hour, which is why the 10 AM PT figure is attributed to the launch-day community report. The patch notes and season listing settle the day; they do not settle the hour.

Why the time is commonly quoted differently
Apex Legends seasons go live as a server-side update, and players in different regions often see the new season at different local moments depending on when their client refreshes. A single published PT time is therefore the most useful reference point, and it is the one most players, streamers, and fan sites repeat. If you are checking a historical launch for a record, cite the date from EA and label the hour as reported.
