What to Bring on ARC Raiders Quests: Objective-Specific Loadouts and Extraction Tips (2026)

By VGSources Team 9 min read

The right ARC Raiders quest loadout is the smallest setup that completes your current objective and gets its required item out alive. Read the quest text before deploying, identify whether it asks for a named object, a camera or other consumable, a map interaction, repair materials, or extraction with loot, then reserve weight and healing for the trip home. There is no evidence-backed universal “best” quest kit: the correct choice changes with the mission.

Protect quest objects from accidental recycling, avoid carrying combat gear you will not use, and decide how you will leave before you start the objective. The examples and procedures below use quests and guidance current to October 2026; check the live in-game objective after every patch or event change.

Start with the objective, not a favorite weapon

Quest text tells you what your inventory must accomplish. A mission can combine several requirements, so gear for the complete chain rather than the first location you see. Current examples include carrying a named relic to a landmark and extracting with it, photographing a target, scanning wreckage, repairing a prototype with several materials, and retrieving a component for a character.

Objective wording or task What to bring or reserve What can end the run
“Find” or “collect” a named item Enough empty capacity for the object; a route and healing plan for the return Recycling, dropping, or losing the object before extraction
“Photograph” or “scan” a target The required camera or scanning tool, plus access to the stated location Arriving without the tool or leaving before the interaction registers
“Repair” or “activate” a device Every named repair material and room to carry them until the interaction is complete Missing one component, being overloaded, or abandoning the site
“Extract with” an item A protected inventory slot and a conservative route to an extraction point Any death, failed extraction, or accidental discard on the way out

Read the entire current objective in the quest menu immediately before you choose equipment. Guides can become stale when a patch changes a location, item, or interaction. The official ARC Raiders site is the best place to check current notices, including the Frozen Trail news and the October 13–20 beta period for a PvE matchmaking toggle; confirm that any mode is actually available in your game before planning around it: ARC Raiders official site.

  • Compatible with Windows and Android.
  • 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)

A practical pre-deployment checklist

  1. Copy the requirements. Write down every named object, material, camera, scan, landmark, and extraction instruction. Treat “and” as literal: a repair quest normally requires all listed parts.
  2. Choose only objective-supporting gear. Bring a weapon and protection that you can use confidently, but do not fill your bag with speculative loot or ammunition for fights unrelated to the mission.
  3. Reserve capacity. Leave room for the quest item and any materials you must pick up. Carry weight and inventory management are core mechanics; an overloaded return trip can be more dangerous than the approach.
  4. Pack healing you can actually use. Early-player guidance recommends building a stockpile of basic healing items. It does not establish a universal quantity, so select an amount that fits your health, route, and available space rather than copying an invented number.
  5. Mark an exit plan. Identify likely extraction options and the direction of travel before interacting with the objective. Extraction timing matters, and you should not assume a point is safe or available at a particular minute.
  6. Protect mission items. Do not recycle a quest object simply because it appears in a normal inventory category. Keep it until the objective confirms delivery or the quest explicitly tells you to use it.

These priorities align with the beginner guidance updated October 4, 2026, which emphasizes healing stock, weight management, extraction timing, and selective fights: ArcRaidersAI New Player Guide.

Three current quests show why loadouts differ

Clean Hands: carry, display, then extract

Clean Hands is a carry-and-extraction mission. Enter the Nomad Camp beneath Railyard in Pendola Pass, search the bag for the Equitorial Sundial, display it at the top of the Old Town church tower, and then extract with the item. The sundial is not merely a pickup to sell or recycle; it remains part of the objective until you leave with it.

  • Before deployment: leave capacity for the sundial and plan healing for the return from the church tower.
  • At the camp: search for the Equitorial Sundial and verify that the objective advances.
  • At Old Town: complete the display interaction at the top of the church tower rather than stopping after the pickup.
  • After the interaction: keep the sundial in your inventory and take the least exposed route to extraction.

The location sequence and extraction requirement are documented in the October 8, 2026 walkthrough: Clean Hands walkthrough.

To the Skies: tools and four repair materials

To the Skies combines reconnaissance with a multi-part repair. Scan a crashed Arc Probe and Courier, then repair and activate the Gondola Prototype east of the east Spaceport elevator. The repair uses Arc Performance Steel, Pop Trigger, Arc Thermo Lining, and Arc Synthetic Resin.

  • Bring or obtain all four named materials; arriving with three does not complete the repair.
  • Reserve space for the parts and the items needed to survive the walk between the crash sites and the gondola.
  • Complete both scans before attempting the repair, then verify the activation interaction.
  • If the objective requires you to leave with anything, keep that item protected through extraction; do not assume activation alone ends the mission.

The October 9, 2026 guide gives the crash-site and gondola sequence: To the Skies walkthrough. Because locations and recipes can change, use the live objective as the authority if it differs.

Sizing Things Up: camera interaction plus a component extraction

Sizing Things Up requires two different kinds of preparation. Use Celeste’s camera to photograph the Emperor’s leg near the bridge outside Old Town. Then collect the Arc Conductive Coupler from the Emperor wreckage and extract it for Celeste.

  1. Confirm that Celeste’s camera is available before leaving the staging area.
  2. Reach the bridge outside Old Town and take the required photograph; wait for the interaction to register.
  3. Search the Emperor wreckage for the Arc Conductive Coupler.
  4. Keep the coupler in your inventory and extract with it. A successful photograph without the returned component is only partial progress.

The route and item sequence come from the October 8, 2026 walkthrough: Sizing Things Up walkthrough.

How to build a quest loadout by risk level

Minimum objective kit

Use this when the mission is a short interaction and you already know the route. Take the required camera, scanner, or repair item; one dependable weapon; and enough healing for an unexpected hit. Keep several inventory spaces open. This setup minimizes loss if the run fails, but it gives you little margin for a long detour or multiple fights.

Logitech G F310 Wired Gamepad Controller Console - Blue/Black | Console-like layout, 4-switch D-pad
  • With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
  • Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
  • A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
  • The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.

Balanced travel kit

Choose this for quests that cross named areas or require a return with loot. Add healing beyond the minimum you would take for a quick visit, a weapon suitable for the ranges on your route, and only the ammunition or utility you can realistically use. The extra survivability is worthwhile because the objective item increases the cost of dying, while excessive weight still slows your decision-making and inventory management.

Conservative extraction kit

Use the most cautious setup when the quest explicitly says to extract with an item, when the item is difficult to replace, or when you are learning the map. Prioritize empty capacity, healing, and a route that avoids unnecessary encounters over optional loot. Once the objective registers, stop taking fights that do not improve your chance of reaching extraction.

There is no published numerical threshold that proves one of these kits is “best.” Compare your options on four practical axes: objective coverage (does every interaction have its required item?), survivability (can you heal and disengage?), capacity (can you carry the result?), and progress risk (how much quest work is lost if you die?).

Loadout choice Objective coverage Survivability and healing Weight and space Best use
Minimum objective kit Required tool or material only Basic Lightest Known, short interaction
Balanced travel kit Required items plus route flexibility Moderate Moderate Multi-location quest
Conservative extraction kit Required items, with extraction as the priority Highest practical priority Space reserved for quest loot “Extract with” objectives or high-loss runs

Extraction: turn a completed objective into completed progress

Before touching the objective

Look at the map and identify where you will leave after the interaction, not just where you will enter. Note obstacles, likely enemy paths, and whether the objective forces you to climb, cross open ground, or revisit a landmark. Keep enough healing and capacity for that return leg. Do not treat a successful scan or photograph as permission to fill the remaining bag with unrelated loot.

Immediately after the objective registers

Pause long enough to verify the correct item, material, or interaction has been recorded. If the mission calls for extraction with an object, ensure it is still in your inventory. Avoid recycling it, dropping it to make room, or replacing it with a seemingly identical item. This is especially important for named quest objects that look like ordinary loot.

On the way out

Fight selectively. The beginner guide specifically advises against fighting every enemy; combat that does not clear your route can consume health, ammunition, and time without advancing the quest. Break line of sight, take a longer path, or disengage when the encounter is optional. Extraction timing is a learned skill, not a guaranteed schedule, so adapt to what is happening in your match rather than relying on a fixed minute or safety promise.

At extraction

Arrive with the quest item intact, keep healing available for the final approach, and do not start a new interaction that creates unnecessary exposure. If extraction fails, treat the run as a loss of the carried objective and reread the current quest text before redeploying; do not assume every earlier interaction will remain credited after an unsuccessful exit.

Common mistakes and how to recover

“I brought a strong weapon, but the quest did not progress.”

Weapon strength does not substitute for a required camera, scanner, named material, or map interaction. Reopen the objective, list each verb and item, and rebuild around those requirements. For a repair mission, check every component rather than only the location.

“The quest item disappeared from my inventory.”

Check whether it was recycled or dropped while making room. The beginner guidance warns against recycling quest items. If the object is gone, return to the mission’s stated search location only after confirming the current objective; a patch may have changed the spawn or the recovery step.

“I completed the interaction but died on the return.”

The objective may still be incomplete if it required extraction. On the next attempt, downgrade optional loot, carry more suitable healing, reserve capacity from the start, and choose a lower-contact route. Stop taking fights once the required interaction is confirmed.

“The guide’s location or item list does not match my game.”

Use the in-game objective and current official notices first. The three walkthroughs above are dated October 8–9, 2026 examples, not a complete or permanent quest list. Live updates can alter objectives, locations, or available modes.

What current events do—and do not—change

Official notices can temporarily add rules that are not part of ordinary questing. For example, the June 16, 2026 Live Update 1.33.0 described event relic Merits that required a successful extraction with the relic in hand. That event ran from June 16 through July 27, 2026, so it is historical context rather than a current requirement. Do not carry its rule into a present-day quest unless an active in-game notice says so: Live Update 1.33.0.

Likewise, older articles may quote quest totals or inventory assumptions that no longer apply. A May 1, 2026 quest-list article is useful historical context, not proof of the current number of missions: PC Gamer quest list.

A repeatable routine for every ARC Raiders quest

  1. Open the current quest and separate required items, interactions, locations, and extraction conditions.
  2. Select the lightest loadout that covers those requirements, then add practical healing and a weapon you can disengage with.
  3. Leave capacity for every item the objective may award or require you to carry.
  4. Plan the exit before the first interaction and avoid optional fights after the objective registers.
  5. Verify the item and progress state before leaving the objective area.
  6. Extract with named quest loot still in your inventory; do not recycle it until the quest is definitively complete.
  7. After a patch or event notice, reread the objective instead of relying on an older walkthrough.

That routine answers “what should I bring?” without pretending a single weapon, armor set, or inventory formula works for every mission. Objective coverage and a safe return matter more than maximizing loot or winning every encounter.
