Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a Nintendo Switch 2 release, not an original Switch game. Before you buy, confirm the platform and regional SKU, try the free demo if you want to carry progress forward, reserve roughly 91.5 GB of storage (plus room for updates), and decide whether the Digital Deluxe extras justify their regional price. A boxed copy may not include the limited Zack Fair promotional card, and the official pages reviewed do not identify whether the physical card contains the game or only a download key.
Start with the platform and release details
Nintendo lists FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH for Nintendo Switch 2 with a June 3, 2026 release date. The Australian eShop describes it as exclusive to Switch 2 and says it cannot be played on the original Nintendo Switch. Check that the product page, cart and confirmation email all say “Nintendo Switch 2”; a generic title or an old Final Fantasy VII Remake listing is not sufficient. Use the regional Nintendo listing for your purchase: Nintendo US, Nintendo UK or the Nintendo Australia eShop.

This is the second installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake project, but you do not have to own another Final Fantasy game to play it. Square Enix describes it as “a standalone game that welcomes fans and newcomers alike.” Its official FAQ also says the game includes a recap video for Final Fantasy VII Remake. That makes the purchase decision different from buying a direct continuation that requires a completed save file. Read the Square Enix FAQ if you want the publisher’s exact explanation.

The free demo on Nintendo’s US listing covers the opening of the game through the end of Chapter 2. A compatible demo save can be carried into the full game, so it is useful both as a trial and as a way to avoid replaying the opening. The transfer has an important order-of-operations rule: if you create full-game save data first, the demo save cannot be transferred. Nintendo says the Kupo charm and survival set can still be obtained in that situation, but the progress transfer itself is lost. See the official Nintendo listing for the current demo terms.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Safe demo-to-full-game sequence
- Download and start the Switch 2 demo from the Nintendo eShop.
- Play through the available content, ending at Chapter 2, and keep the demo save on the same Nintendo Switch 2 user account you plan to use for the full game.
- Finish the demo and leave its save data intact. Do not delete or overwrite it while deciding which edition to purchase.
- Buy and launch the full game on that account before creating a new full-game save that would block the transfer condition.
- Follow the in-game prompt to import the demo progress. If the full-game save already exists, expect the transfer not to work; the listed bonus items may still be claimable.
The demo is therefore a low-risk way to check the opening, the controls and whether the game suits your storage and play setup. It is not a promise that every later chapter or system is represented in the trial.
Plan for a very large installation
Storage figures vary by regional listing and can change with updates. Nintendo of America’s 2026 US product page lists a 91.5 GB game file. The Australian eShop also lists 91.5 GB of required space and warns that the amount may be more or less, while a separate Australian game page reports 91.7 GB. These are official regional listing values, not evidence that one console installs two versions simultaneously. Check the page for your Nintendo Account region immediately before buying and leave additional free space for updates, save management and other software.
| Official listing | Storage figure | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Nintendo US product page | 91.5 GB | Use as the US reference for the game file; figure attributed to Nintendo of America, 2026. |
| Nintendo Australia eShop | 91.5 GB required space | Regional eShop estimate; the page notes that more or less space may be needed. |
| Nintendo Australia game page | 91.7 GB | A separate Australian listing value; check the current regional page rather than assuming it applies worldwide. |
If internal storage is not sufficient, Nintendo Australia’s eShop says Switch 2 supports microSD Express cards. The card is an optional capacity solution, not a stated requirement for every owner and not identified as bundled with the game. Confirm that any card you buy is the Express type supported by Switch 2, and install it before starting a large download so the console has a clear destination.

Storage checklist
- Open the Nintendo eShop page for your region and record its current required-space figure.
- Check free space under the console’s data-management settings before purchase.
- Reserve more than the listed game size so an update does not fail at the final installation stage.
- If you use expandable storage, choose a microSD Express card and verify the console recognizes it before beginning the download.
- For a boxed purchase, do not assume the card eliminates all downloads; the reviewed official pages do not state the physical format or whether additional data is required.
Choose between the Standard/boxed offer and Digital Deluxe
Both options contain the full Switch 2 game. The practical difference is whether you want digital extras, a physical copy, or a limited promotional item that may no longer be available. Nintendo’s Digital Deluxe listing identifies the included content; Square Enix’s store describes the limited Day One boxed bonus. Compare the exact regional SKU and current price at checkout, because prices, stock and bonus eligibility are changeable.
| Purchase question | Standard or boxed offer | Digital Deluxe Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Game included? | Full Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for Nintendo Switch 2. | Full Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for Nintendo Switch 2. |
| Digital extras | The standard listing does not include the limited Day One promo card as a digital extra. | Magic Pot summon, Reclaimant Choker accessory, Orchid Bracelet armor, a digital art book and a mini soundtrack. |
| Physical bonus | A limited Day One box included an English Zack Fair Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY promotional card according to Square Enix; the North American Square Enix store marks Day One stock sold out. | Digital content rather than the boxed promotional card. |
| Storage | Nintendo’s US listing gives 91.5 GB; the reviewed pages do not establish how much game data is on the physical card or whether a download is required. | Digital download; Nintendo’s US listing gives 91.5 GB. |
| Demo | The free demo is available before buying. | The same free demo is available before buying. |
| Account and access | Verify the retailer’s exact SKU and the terms printed on the listing. | The art book and soundtrack require a Square Enix account, a browser-based Square Enix Digital Content Viewer and internet access. |
What Digital Deluxe actually adds
The Digital Deluxe package is primarily a digital-content decision, not a separately reported performance tier. Nintendo lists the Magic Pot summon, Reclaimant Choker accessory and Orchid Bracelet armor, plus a digital art book and mini soundtrack. The art and music are accessed through Square Enix’s Digital Content Viewer in a web browser rather than as ordinary offline game files. Nintendo states that a Square Enix account is required and that the viewer is accessible from release day.
Do not buy Deluxe solely to secure permanent exclusivity for the art or music. Nintendo says the digital items may later be sold separately. That possibility does not establish a release date or price, so compare the current bundle price with any upgrade or individual-item option shown in your region. Also check whether you already own a separate edition or add-on: the listing’s contents should be compared against your account to avoid paying twice for the same entitlement.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

Questions to answer before selecting Deluxe
- Will you use the three in-game items, or are you buying only for the art book and soundtrack?
- Can you create or access a Square Enix account and receive any required email or account verification?
- Are you comfortable viewing the art and music through a browser-based viewer rather than an offline file?
- Does your regional Nintendo page show the same contents and an acceptable price?
- Does the checkout item clearly say “Digital Deluxe Edition” for Switch 2, rather than an upgrade for a different platform?
Do not treat the Zack Fair card as a guaranteed component
Square Enix says its limited Day One Edition included an English Zack Fair promotional card for Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY. The North American Square Enix store currently marks that Day One stock as sold out. This does not prove that every retailer is sold out, nor does it prove that a current boxed listing includes the card. A retailer may be selling standard stock under a similar product title, or may have removed the bonus after the promotion ended.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If the card matters to you, inspect the exact product description, edition name and “included items” section before paying. Look for a current statement from the retailer or publisher rather than relying on an image, an old search result or the words “launch edition.” If the listing does not explicitly promise the card, treat it as a standard copy and do not pay a collector premium based on assumption.
The physical-card format is still a question to verify
The official pages reviewed confirm that a boxed edition exists, but they do not say whether the Switch 2 card contains the complete game, requires a download, or functions as a key to download the game. Nintendo’s 91.5 GB digital figure cannot answer that physical-format question. Before ordering a boxed copy, check the retailer’s packaging details, the SKU-specific specifications or a directly relevant official statement. If none is available, plan for the possibility that a substantial download could still be required and make sure the console has enough storage.

Prior Final Fantasy VII games: useful context, not a requirement
Square Enix presents Rebirth as a standalone adventure and says no other Final Fantasy title is required. The in-game recap is intended to provide background on Remake, so a newcomer can begin here. You may still prefer to play Final Fantasy VII Remake first for story continuity, but that is a personal sequencing choice rather than an official purchase prerequisite.
Existing save data can provide bonuses. Nintendo and Square Enix say that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade save data can grant Leviathan and Ramuh summon materia bonuses. The eligibility is tied to the specified Intergrade save data, not simply to owning any Final Fantasy game. If you have played on another platform or deleted the save, verify that the qualifying data is present on the Switch 2 system or account before expecting the bonuses.

Performance and resolution claims: what is not established
The reviewed Nintendo and Square Enix product pages do not specify Switch 2 frame-rate targets, resolution modes, visual settings or independent performance measurements. Do not buy based on an advertised frame rate or resolution unless the current official listing or a reliable technical test provides that information. The confirmed facts are the platform, release date, game contents, storage estimates, demo behavior and edition extras; performance targets remain unlisted in those sources.

Regional listings, stock and price checks
Prices, availability, promotional items and even displayed file-size figures can change by country and over time. The US, UK and Australian pages are useful examples, not a single worldwide offer. Before completing the transaction:
- Select the Nintendo Account region and retailer location you actually use.
- Confirm that the title says Nintendo Switch 2 and identify whether the item is Standard, boxed Day One, or Digital Deluxe.
- Read the current included-content list, especially if you want the Zack Fair card or Deluxe items.
- Check the regional storage figure and available console space.
- Review return, cancellation and delivery terms for a boxed copy, since promotional stock may be limited.
- Save the order confirmation showing the exact SKU and edition in case the delivered product differs from the listing.
A US price or an Australian storage number should not be silently generalized to another region. Use the local Nintendo page as the final authority for the digital listing and the exact retailer description for a physical order.
A practical buying decision
Choose the Standard or boxed offer when
- You want the game without the Digital Deluxe art, music and item bundle.
- You prefer a physical purchase and have verified the retailer’s SKU and physical-format details.
- You are not relying on the Zack Fair card, or the listing explicitly confirms that it is included.
- You have enough storage for any download that the boxed format may require.
Choose Digital Deluxe when
- You want the Magic Pot, Reclaimant Choker and Orchid Bracelet as part of the same purchase.
- You will use the digital art book and mini soundtrack and can access the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer.
- You have checked the current regional price and confirmed that the listing is for Switch 2.
- You understand that Nintendo may offer the digital items separately later and are buying for present convenience rather than guaranteed exclusivity.
Wait or verify further when
- The listing does not clearly identify Nintendo Switch 2.
- The seller promises a Day One card without specifying the edition or current stock.
- The boxed listing does not explain whether a download is required and your storage is nearly full.
- You cannot access a Square Enix account or browser viewer but are considering Deluxe for its art and soundtrack.
- The displayed price, bonus or file-size information conflicts with the current regional Nintendo page.
Final pre-purchase checklist
- Platform: Nintendo Switch 2 is named in the product title and SKU.
- Release: The listing corresponds to the June 3, 2026 Switch 2 release.
- Trial: You have played the demo or decided that the Chapter 2 trial is not necessary.
- Save transfer: If carrying demo progress matters, you will import it before creating conflicting full-game save data.
- Storage: Your regional page’s approximately 91.5–91.7 GB figure fits with room for updates, or a compatible microSD Express card is ready.
- Edition: You know whether you are buying Standard/boxed or Digital Deluxe and have checked the included items.
- Bonus: The Zack Fair card is explicitly confirmed, or you are treating it as unavailable.
- Physical format: You have verified the card/download requirement or accepted the uncertainty.
- Accounts: A Square Enix account and browser access are available if Deluxe’s art book and soundtrack matter to you.
- Context: You know prior games are optional, while qualifying Remake Intergrade save data can provide summon bonuses.
Once those checks are satisfied, the decision is straightforward: buy the Switch 2 edition that matches your preferred format and extras, with storage and demo-save handling planned in advance. The official listings support the game’s release, standalone positioning, demo transfer, storage range and Deluxe contents; they do not support assumptions about physical-card format or Switch 2 performance targets.
