Change the ASOS password and every other account where you used the same or a similar password. Start with the email account used for password resets, then turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) where available and check payment activity. Reusing a password is a security risk, but it does not by itself prove that anyone accessed your accounts.
1. Replace the reused password everywhere
ASOS warns that a stolen password reused across accounts can put all of them at risk. The Federal Trade Commission likewise advises changing a suspected stolen password on every account where it, or a similar password, was used. Change your ASOS password and each of those other passwords; do not just alter a character or add a number to the old one.
Choose a different, unique password for each account. If you can sign in to ASOS, go to your account settings and select “Change password.” The ASOS help page reviewed says the new password must be 10–100 characters and differ from your last password: ASOS password-change instructions.
2. Secure the email account used for password resets
Your email account can be used to reset passwords for other services, so treat it as a priority—especially if you reused the ASOS password there. Give it a unique password, and enable MFA if the email provider offers it.

If you suspect someone accessed the email account, look for unfamiliar forwarding rules or filters. Attackers can use forwarding to receive copies of messages, including password-reset emails. The UK National Cyber Security Centre explains how to check for this in its hacked-account guidance.
3. If you cannot sign in to ASOS, use its reset process
Go to the ASOS sign-in page yourself and select “Forgotten password?” Enter the email address registered to the account; ASOS says it will send a reset link to that address. If the email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. Do not follow password-reset links in unexpected messages; use the official ASOS website or Customer Care route instead.

ASOS says three incorrect email-and-password attempts trigger a 30-minute account lock. If that happens, wait for the lock to expire and use the reset process rather than repeatedly guessing. See ASOS sign-in and password-reset help.
4. Turn on MFA where it is offered
MFA adds a verification step beyond the password, which can make a stolen password alone insufficient to sign in. CISA recommends enabling it on email, financial, social, and online-shopping accounts. Prioritize your email and payment-related accounts, then enable it on other important services that support it.

The ASOS guidance reviewed does not establish whether ASOS offers MFA, so check its current account-security settings rather than assuming the option is available. CISA’s MFA guidance explains the broader recommendation.
5. Review payment activity and report anything unfamiliar
Check recent bank and payment-account activity for transactions you do not recognize. Contact your bank or payment provider promptly about an unrecognized charge. For a suspected unauthorized ASOS transaction, contact ASOS through its Help pages and provide the transaction date, time, amount and currency, plus the last four digits of the card used.

A password manager can generate and store a different password for each account, so you do not have to memorize them all. Before choosing one, consider how it works across your devices, how it stores and backs up your data, how you can recover access if you lose your main device or credentials, and whether you can protect the vault with MFA.
