Stop before pressing the final confirmation button if the squad preview contains a player you did not intend to submit. EA Help says items submitted to a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) are permanently removed from your Club, and EA Advisors cannot restore them. First verify the challenge, the complete player list and the confirmation warning. If the correct squad is shown but submission fails, test the same challenge in another supported interface—the game, Web App or Companion App—then follow EA’s restart guidance if content appears missing. These steps can isolate a client-specific problem, but forum reports do not establish one universal fix for every current FC title, platform or SBC.
Protect your Club before troubleshooting
An SBC submission has two separate risks: you can submit the wrong items, or the correct submission can fail. Treat the squad shown immediately before confirmation as the authoritative list for that attempt. Do not rely on the players you remember selecting earlier in the process.

Read the challenge and squad together
- Check the challenge name and requirements at the top of the screen. A similar-looking SBC may have different chemistry, rating, league or player requirements.
- Scroll through every slot in the displayed squad. Confirm names, versions and positions, including duplicate-looking special cards.
- Read the warning in the confirmation dialog. If it lists a player you want to keep, cancel rather than accepting.
- Only confirm after the displayed squad matches your intended submission. EA’s published guidance makes the consequence clear: submitted items leave the Club permanently and support cannot put those submitted items back.
If the wrong players appear before confirmation, this is not a submission error to work around by clicking again. Cancel, rebuild the squad and inspect the preview again. Repeatedly pressing submit cannot correct a wrong selection.

Use this ordered troubleshooting sequence
1. Stop at the confirmation screen and verify the exact squad
Do not submit a squad that looks wrong in the preview. Compare each slot with the players you intended to use, then reopen the challenge requirements if anything is unfamiliar. A displayed player can be wrong because you are in a different challenge, because a duplicate card is easy to confuse with another version, or because the interface retained an earlier selection. The available evidence does not prove which of those explanations applies, so the safe response is verification rather than a guess.
Capture the challenge name, platform, game version and interface in your notes if the preview is incorrect. Those details make later support reports more useful and prevent you from describing two different attempts as one failure.
2. Retry through a different supported surface
When the squad is correct but the request fails, try the same challenge in another interface that is available to your account:
- Leave the failed attempt without accepting a different squad.
- Open the game if you were using the Web App or Companion App, or open one of those apps if you were in the game.
- Navigate to the identical SBC and compare the displayed player list before confirming.
- Submit once. Note whether the same error appears, whether the challenge completes, and whether the submitted players and reward state update normally.
An FC 24 forum participant reported that a submission failed in the game but worked through the Companion App and Web App. Another FC 24 thread advised trying all three surfaces. These are user reports and forum advice, not an EA guarantee that one interface is more reliable. The useful diagnostic result is whether the error follows the challenge across interfaces or stays in one client.

3. Restart when content appears to be missing
If an item, pack or related content appears to have vanished, restart the PC or console completely, then check the Club and SBC state again. This is the action EA Help recommends in its article “How to find missing EA SPORTS FC Items and Packs,” accessed October 13, 2026. The article addresses missing content and recovery checks; it is not a complete explanation for every failed submission or wrong-player display.
After restarting, check the same account and platform you used for the submission. Confirm whether the item is actually absent, whether the SBC is marked complete, and whether the reward has arrived. Avoid starting another submission until you know which state the account is in.
4. Isolate SBC Storage as a variable
One FC 25 forum user described an error while using SBC Storage and said other SBCs worked when SBC Storage was not involved. If your failure occurs specifically while selecting or submitting stored players, try an equivalent squad made from players outside that storage area, provided the challenge still meets its requirements. Compare the result with the original attempt.
This observation does not establish that SBC Storage is generally defective, nor does it prove that avoiding it fixes a current problem. Treat it as a controlled comparison: change only the storage source, keep the challenge and interface the same, and record what happens.

5. Stop repeating attempts that do not change the evidence
If the same challenge fails in the game, Web App and Companion App, or if the squad preview remains wrong after rebuilding, further retries are unlikely to reveal a new cause by themselves. Do not substitute players at random, accept a warning you have not read or submit a second squad simply to see whether the first one “sticks.” Preserve the exact error text and the state of the Club for a support report.
How the three interfaces help diagnose the failure

Availability, sign-in requirements and feature behavior can vary by title, platform and app version. The forum threads cited in the available evidence concern FC 24 or FC 25 cases, so they should not be treated as proof of behavior in every current EA SPORTS FC release.

EA’s strongest documented point is the irreversibility of an accepted SBC submission and the instruction to restart when content appears missing. The interface-switching suggestion comes from FC 24 player reports and replies. The SBC Storage observation comes from one FC 25 user report. None of those sources establishes a universal current defect, a server outage, a chemistry bug, or a guaranteed recovery method.
That distinction matters when the screen shows the wrong players. A visual mismatch can be an incorrect challenge, a stale client state, an account synchronization issue or another condition that is not identified in the available guidance. Without the exact title, platform, game build, interface, challenge and error text, assigning a single cause would be speculation.

Prepare a useful EA support report
If the problem survives the sequence above, give EA Help a reproducible account of the attempt. Include:
- The exact SBC name and, if shown, its group or segment.
- Your EA SPORTS FC title, platform (PC, PlayStation, Xbox or another supported platform) and game version or update number.
- Whether you used the game, Web App or Companion App, plus the app or browser version when relevant.
- The precise on-screen message, such as “Failed to Submit Challenge,” and the point at which it appeared.
- Whether the squad preview showed the intended players before you pressed confirm.
- Whether the attempt involved SBC Storage, and whether a comparable attempt without it behaved differently.
- What happened after a full restart: missing players, unchanged squad state, completed SBC, delivered reward or another result.
Do not promise that support can restore a squad you accepted by mistake. EA Help’s stated policy is that advisors cannot restore items submitted into an SBC. A clear report can help diagnose an uncompleted request, but it cannot reverse a submission that the account recorded as final.
A safer SBC workflow for future attempts
- Open the challenge from its own listing and read every requirement before choosing players.
- Build the squad, then pause before confirmation.
- Inspect every displayed card, including versions that look similar and any player pulled from SBC Storage.
- Read the warning and cancel if even one player is not expendable.
- If submission fails, write down the error before changing the squad or interface.
- Use one alternate interface as a diagnostic, then restart the PC or console if content appears missing.
- Keep the challenge, platform, version and interface details together if you need to contact EA Help.
This workflow separates an accidental submission from a technical failure. It also creates a clean record of what changed between attempts, which is more informative than repeatedly pressing the same button.

When to stop and wait for clearer information
Stop troubleshooting locally when the wrong-player preview cannot be reproduced consistently, when all three interfaces show conflicting squads, or when the account state changes without a completed submission. The available reports do not provide a confirmed universal fix for those situations. Preserve screenshots or screen recordings if permitted on your platform, avoid spending additional players while the state is uncertain, and use current EA Help support channels with the details listed above.
