What to Spend Rainbow Diamonds on in One Piece Bounty Rush: A Live-Scout Decision Guide

By VGSources Team 10 min read

Spend Rainbow Diamonds only when a currently available Scout offers a character or reward you actually want and its displayed cost fits your budget. If either condition fails, saving is the better move. Prices, step sequences and guarantees are banner-specific and change over time, so the active Scout screen—not an old guide or community post—is the authority.

This approach matters because One Piece Bounty Rush is a zone-capture team battle with more than 350 available characters. There is no single universally correct character or permanent “best” banner for every account. Your roster, role preferences, target outcome and ability to reach the banner’s stated endpoint should determine every spend.

What Rainbow Diamonds are for

Rainbow Diamonds are the game’s spendable in-game balance for Scout offers and related acquisitions. The official Bounty Rush Web Store lists Rainbow Diamond bundles and Scout-specific tickets, confirming that Scouts are the central spending context. The game’s official site describes the title as a zone-capture team battle and advertises more than 350 characters, so choosing where to spend is primarily a roster and objective decision rather than a one-time purchase decision.

A large character pool creates two traps. First, a character can be popular without being useful for your account’s current roles, medals or team composition. Second, a banner can look attractive while still being unaffordable if you cannot complete the steps that lead to its stated reward. Treat each Scout as a separate offer with its own terms, not as proof that every Rainbow Diamond is equally valuable on every banner.

Check your platform balance before planning a pull

Rainbow Diamonds do not form one universal wallet across every version. Bandai Namco’s Steam information states: “Rainbow Diamonds are managed separately, and are not shared between the PC and Mobile versions.” Other account information may be shared, but the currency balance is platform-specific.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • Steam or PC session: make sure the balance you are counting is shown on the PC version.
  • Mobile session: check the balance on the mobile version before committing to a mobile Scout.
  • Switching platforms: do not assume a planned PC purchase will fund a mobile pull, or vice versa.

Write down the platform, current balance and the Scout’s end date before you compare offers. This prevents a budget that looks sufficient on one device from being unusable on the device where you play.

The five-step spending decision

Use this sequence every time a new Scout appears. It is deliberately based on information visible in the live game rather than on a fixed number of Rainbow Diamonds.

  1. Open the live Scout screen. From the Home screen, choose Scout and open the specific banner you are considering. Menu names can vary slightly by language or update, but the banner detail page is where the current cost, step order, rates and rewards are shown.
  2. Identify the exact outcome. Record the featured character, selectable pool, ticket, fragment, exchange item or other reward you would be happy to receive. “A strong unit” is too vague; name the character or result that justifies spending.
  3. Read every step and condition. Note the Rainbow Diamond cost for each step, whether steps reset, the number of available rounds, any ticket requirement, and every explicitly stated guaranteed reward. Do not import a guarantee number from another Scout.
  4. Compare the endpoint with your balance. Calculate how many Diamonds you can spend without using money reserved for essentials or a future target. If the desired guaranteed endpoint is beyond your available balance, treat the banner as a gamble rather than a reachable plan.
  5. Choose spend or save. Spend only when the target matters to you, the terms are clear and the cost fits your limit. Otherwise close the banner and keep the Diamonds for a Scout that passes all three tests.

How to judge a Scout before spending

1. Is the target genuinely useful to your account?

Start with the job you need a character to perform. In a zone-capture game, ask whether the target fills a role you actually play—such as securing flags, defending them, disrupting an opponent or supporting a coordinated team—or merely duplicates several units already built. Review your current teams, levels, traits and medals before you open the purchase screen.

  • Role gap: the character supplies a function your strongest teams lack.
  • Preference: you enjoy the character or playstyle enough to use it repeatedly.
  • Account fit: your existing resources can develop the unit instead of leaving it unused.
  • Duplication: several owned characters already cover the same job, reducing the practical value of another copy.

Popularity, thumbnail art and short-term discussion can be useful prompts, but they do not establish that a particular character or banner is optimal for every player. Make the target—not hype—the first gate.

2. What does the banner actually guarantee?

Some Scouts describe a guaranteed reward at a particular step; others may emphasize rates, tickets or a limited number of rounds without promising the featured character. Read the banner’s own wording. The official pages available for this game do not establish one universal current Rainbow Diamond price or guarantee threshold, and old community figures should not be treated as current instructions.

Copy the guarantee language into your notes exactly. Distinguish among a guaranteed featured character, a guaranteed character from a broad pool, a Scout ticket, a fragment or a rate increase. These outcomes are not interchangeable. If the final step gives only a chance, label it as a chance in your plan and decide whether you are willing to stop without the target.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Can you reach the desired endpoint?

A banner is easier to evaluate when you can afford the complete sequence that matters to you. If you have enough Diamonds for only the opening step of a multi-step Scout, decide in advance whether receiving a non-target result would still be acceptable. Never let a first purchase force the next one simply because you have already started.

Set a hard ceiling before pressing the confirmation button. A ceiling can be a number of steps, a maximum Rainbow Diamond balance, or the point at which the guaranteed endpoint becomes unreachable. When the ceiling is reached, stop—even if the banner still has time remaining.

4. What are you giving up by spending now?

Every Scout competes with later opportunities. Saving preserves the ability to act when a future banner features a character you prefer or a guarantee you can actually complete. This is an opportunity-cost decision, not a prediction that a particular future unit will be stronger.

Use a simple priority order: a named personal target first, a role your roster cannot cover second, and a vague desire to “get something new” last. If none of those priorities applies, saving has a clear rationale even when the current banner is heavily promoted.

When spending is usually sensible

You have a specific target and a defined stopping point

Spending is reasonable when you can name the desired character or reward, understand the banner’s steps and have set a limit you will respect. This turns a pull into a controlled choice instead of an open-ended chase.

The target fills a real roster gap

If your teams repeatedly fail because you lack a particular role, a Scout featuring a suitable answer may justify the cost. Verify that the character’s displayed traits and role match your need; do not infer performance from the banner title alone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The guarantee is explicit and affordable

An affordable, clearly stated endpoint gives you a measurable decision. Confirm whether the reward is exactly what you want and whether the step sequence is still available in your region. A guarantee that applies only to a broad pool may not solve your target problem.

You are comfortable with the non-guaranteed outcome

For a rate-based or partial sequence, spend only if the possible results are acceptable even when the featured character does not appear. If receiving any other result would feel like a loss, save until you can pursue a clearer endpoint.

When saving is the better choice

  • No named target: you are spending because the banner is visible, not because you want its outcome.
  • Unreachable guarantee: your balance cannot cover the steps that matter and you would be disappointed by an early stop.
  • Duplicate role: your developed roster already performs the same job effectively.
  • Unclear terms: the Scout page does not clearly state the cost, reward pool or conditions you need to evaluate it.
  • Platform mismatch: the Diamonds you counted are on Steam while the intended pull is on mobile, or the reverse.
  • Budget pressure: purchasing more currency would conflict with your own spending limit.

Saving is not a failure to participate. It preserves optionality and removes pressure to justify a purchase merely because you have already accumulated Diamonds.

Rainbow Diamonds, Scout tickets and Web Store purchases

The official Web Store lists both Rainbow Diamond bundles and Scout-specific tickets. Treat a ticket as the reward described by its own terms; do not assume that buying a ticket grants the same flexibility as holding Diamonds. Before purchasing, confirm which Scout accepts it, whether it expires, and whether it can be used on the result you want.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Web Store delivery follows a specific process described by Bandai Namco’s Web Store guide: after purchase, the item arrives when you open the app’s Home Screen, and paid Rainbow Diamonds are credited directly. If the balance does not update immediately, return to the Home screen, allow the game to complete its connection, then check the currency display again before attempting another purchase.

Offers vary by region, and the store is unavailable in some countries. Check the current store page and local terms for your location instead of assuming that an offer shown elsewhere is available to you. Prices, remaining limits and countdowns are time-sensitive and should be read at the moment you buy.

Common mistakes and how to recover

Following an old guarantee number

Community discussions can preserve useful experiences, but an old megathread is not a current cost guide. If a post gives a numerical threshold, ignore it unless the live Scout screen shows the same condition now. Recalculate from the current banner.

Confusing a ticket with the featured character

A ticket, fragment or pool guarantee may be valuable without being the character you want. Read the reward description and pool before counting it toward your goal.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Spending across the wrong platform

Because Steam and mobile balances are separate, verify the platform label before you buy or plan a pull. If you expected a transfer, stop and check the account and version rather than making a second purchase.

Not receiving a Web Store item

  1. Confirm that the purchase was made for the correct game account and region.
  2. Open the app and reach the Home screen so delivery can be processed.
  3. Check the Rainbow Diamond or ticket balance after the Home screen loads.
  4. If the item is still missing, retain the transaction details and use the support route provided with the current store terms; do not buy again to test delivery.

Continuing after your limit

Write your ceiling down before the first step. If you reach it without the target, accept the result and stop. Changing the ceiling mid-Scout turns a planned spend into an unbounded chase.

Quick Recap

A practical checklist before you confirm

  • I am on the platform whose Rainbow Diamond balance I intend to use.
  • I can name the exact character or reward I want.
  • I have read this Scout’s current step costs, pool and guarantee wording.
  • I know whether the displayed cost is per step, per round or for a limited offer.
  • I can reach the endpoint that matters to me, or I accept the chance of stopping earlier.
  • The target improves a roster need or is a deliberate personal choice, not impulse.
  • I have a hard spending ceiling and will stop at it.
  • If I am using the Web Store, it is available in my region and I understand Home-screen delivery.

The rule to keep

Use Rainbow Diamonds for a live Scout only when its target, current terms and cost all match your plan. The official game and store pages establish the spending context, but they do not create a permanent universal price or guarantee. Check the banner in your own game, count only the balance on the correct platform, and save whenever the offer does not clear your personal threshold.
