There is no single best first unlock in Resident Evil Requiem: choose a combat-focused charm for practical utility, a costume or filter for customization, or save the post-game challenge for after the campaign. If you want more gameplay rather than bonuses, completing the main story unlocks the free Leon Must Die Forever mode.
What should you unlock first?
Start with the kind of reward you will actually use. Challenge- and CP-based charms can affect combat, while costumes, weapon skins, and screen filters are visual options. Leon Must Die Forever is different: it is an extra mode to play after finishing the main story, not a campaign unlock to spend CP on.

Which charms are worth prioritizing?
If you want a reward that changes combat rather than appearance, prioritize charms. PC Gamer reports two useful examples: the Rugged Rookie Charm increases Grace’s firepower and costs 6,500 CP; the Trusted Companion Charm increases Leon’s bullet penetration and unlocks after defeating 300 enemies. Choose based on which character and effect matter to you. One reward has a stated CP price and the other a defeat-count requirement; the evidence here does not compare every charm’s strength or establish that either is best for all players.
How to apply costumes, skins, filters, and audio
- Return to the title screen.
- Open Bonuses, then choose Bonus Settings.
- Select the available costume, weapon skin, screen filter, or custom sound you want to use.

What does the Deluxe Kit add?
The PS5 Deluxe Kit listing names Grace’s Dimitrescu and Film Noir costumes; Leon’s RE4, Apocalypse, and Film Noir costumes; Apocalypse and Film Noir screen filters; four weapon skins; Mr. Raccoon and DSO Emblem charms; the Raccoon City Classic audio pack; and the “Letters from 1998” files. Costumes, skins, filters, and custom sounds are selected through Bonus Settings. Charms are added to inventory, or to an item or supply box if inventory is full. “Letters from 1998” content unlocks after finding a particular file in Raccoon City; finding and reading every file to the end grants a special charm, according to the listing. How to unlock Leon Must Die Forever
Finish the main story. Capcom France describes Leon Must Die Forever as a free extra mode unlocked after completing the campaign. It revisits areas and the final boss with stronger enemies, a timer, five rising difficulty ranks, and mode-exclusive boost abilities. Area order and Leon’s boost choices vary between runs.
