Xbox also announced member benefits, an EA Play trial, an expansion, and games scheduled to leave on September 30. These are historical announcements, not confirmation of what is in the library today.
September 2024 Wave 2 catalog additions
Xbox Wire named Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass for all three additions. Only Wargroove 2 was announced for cloud and console as well as PC; the other two were PC releases.
| Game | Announced arrival | Platforms | Plans named by Xbox |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wargroove 2 | September 19, 2024 | Cloud, console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate; PC Game Pass |
| Frostpunk 2 | September 20, 2024 | PC | Game Pass Ultimate; PC Game Pass |
| Ara: History Untold | September 24, 2024 | PC | Game Pass Ultimate; PC Game Pass |
Xbox described Wargroove 2 as a strategy game with new Commanders and editors for creating and sharing maps, cut-scenes, and campaigns. Frostpunk 2 was presented as a society-survival game set 30 years after an apocalyptic blizzard, where players lead a city and navigate competing factions. Ara: History Untold was described as historical grand strategy centered on nation-building, exploration, culture, diplomacy, and rivals. These are the announcement’s descriptions, not independent reviews.
Other content and benefits in the announcement
The Wave 2 post also covered several different kinds of member content. They were not all new catalog additions, so their terms should not be confused with the arrival dates in the table.

In the September 17 post, Megan Spurr, Senior Community Lead, Xbox Game Pass, wrote: “We have games for all kinds of people, and in this batch, we especially have games for people who are ready to build their own city or civilization (and maybe watch it burn, who knows?).” The city-building and civilization theme connects the three featured additions, while the announcement also included updates, a trial, Perks, and departure notices.
