From April 16–30, 2024, Xbox announced ten Game Pass additions across the broader catalog and Game Pass Core, including day-one releases Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Another Crab’s Treasure and PC Game Preview title Manor Lords. Six games were scheduled to leave on April 30. This is a historical account of the April 2024 announcement, not a statement of what is available in Game Pass today.
Xbox Game Pass additions from April 16–30, 2024
The table reflects the dates, platform labels and access routes in Xbox’s April 16, 2024 announcement. Platform listings describe what Xbox announced; availability could vary by plan, region and platform.
| Date | Game | Platforms or access route | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| April 16 | Harold Halibut | Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S | Day-one Game Pass release; a handcrafted narrative game set aboard a city-sized spaceship beneath an alien ocean. |
| April 17 | Orcs Must Die! 3 | Cloud, console, PC | Action and tower defense, playable solo or in two-player co-op. |
| April 18 | EA Sports NHL 24 | Console through EA Play | EA Play benefit for Game Pass Ultimate members; not a general cloud, console and PC catalog release. |
| April 23 | Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes | Cloud, console, PC | Day-one release. The JRPG features a six-character party, more than 100 recruitable heroes, town management and minigames. |
| April 23 | Deep Rock Galactic | Game Pass Core | Added to the Core library, separately from the broader catalog additions. |
| April 23 | Superhot: Mind Control Delete | Game Pass Core | Added to the Core library. |
| April 23 | Wreckfest | Game Pass Core | Added to the Core library. |
| April 25 | Another Crab’s Treasure | Cloud, console, PC | Day-one release; a soulslike action-adventure in which hermit crab Kril uses discarded trash as shells. |
| April 26 | Manor Lords (Game Preview) | PC | Day-one PC Game Pass release. A medieval city builder and economic strategy game with tactical battles; Xbox did not list it as a console release in this wave. |
| April 30 | Have a Nice Death | Cloud, console, PC | A 2D action roguelike arriving on the final day of the month. |
Which additions were day-one releases?
Xbox explicitly identified Harold Halibut, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and Another Crab’s Treasure as day-one Game Pass releases. Manor Lords was also a day-one release, specifically for PC Game Pass, and launched in Game Preview. Here, “day one” refers to the Game Pass launch timing, not necessarily the first commercial availability in every territory.
The announcement did not apply that label to Orcs Must Die! 3, Have a Nice Death or the three Core additions. Xbox’s April 12 weekly release roundup also listed Harold Halibut for April 16, while its April 19 roundup confirmed Eiyuden Chronicle for April 23.

How the EA Play and Core additions differed
EA Sports NHL 24 came through EA Play
NHL 24 arrived on console on April 18 through EA Play, which Xbox presented as a Game Pass Ultimate benefit. It was not listed as a standard release across cloud, console and PC, so subscribers should not infer that every Game Pass plan included it.
Three games joined Game Pass Core
Deep Rock Galactic, Superhot: Mind Control Delete and Wreckfest joined the Game Pass Core library on April 23. Core was a distinct library and access category in the announcement, not another name for the broader catalog of cloud, console and PC additions.

Games scheduled to leave on April 30
Xbox listed six departures for April 30, 2024. The platform labels below are those in the April announcement; the stated date does not establish a universal removal hour across time zones.
| Game | Platforms listed | Who may want to prioritize it |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Days to Die | Cloud, console, PC | Players looking for a survival game to spend time with before it leaves. |
| Besiege | Cloud, console, PC | Players drawn to building, testing and tinkering with contraptions. |
| EA Sports NHL 22 | Console | Console hockey fans; it was the only departure in this list not also labeled for cloud and PC. |
| Loot River | Cloud, console, PC | Players interested in an action game with a roguelike structure. |
| Pikuniku | Cloud, console, PC | Anyone looking for a distinctive, compact-feeling game to sample before the deadline. |
| Ravenlok | Cloud, console, PC | Players after a shorter-looking adventure option rather than a large RPG or survival commitment. |
Xbox advertised a 20% Game Pass member discount on purchases of departing games in that 2024 announcement. That was the promotion stated at the time, not a claim about a discount still being available. Access through a subscription ends when a title leaves the catalog; downloading it does not by itself grant permanent ownership. Buying a game is separate from the subscription, and add-ons should be checked separately because owning DLC does not necessarily include the base game.

What to prioritize
- For a major new RPG: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was the wave’s broadest role-playing offering, with its large recruitable cast and town-management systems.
- For an unusual new indie: Another Crab’s Treasure pairs soulslike action with its trash-as-shell premise.
- For PC strategy: Manor Lords was the city-building and tactical-battle option, but it was a PC Game Preview release.
- For co-op action: Orcs Must Die! 3 supports two-player co-op as well as solo play.
- Before the deadline: Hockey fans should note the console-only listing for NHL 22; players choosing among longer commitments might also put 7 Days to Die, Besiege or Loot River near the top of their queue.
Updates and perks that were not new catalog games
The April 16 Xbox post also mentioned ARK: Survival Ascended — Scorched Earth, Conan Exiles: Age of War Chapter 4 and Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition as game content or updates, alongside the Fallout 76 Vault 33 Survivor Kit and The Elder Scrolls Online 10th Anniversary Pack #1 as perks. These were not additional Game Pass catalog-game additions and are not included in the ten-game count above.

This list covers April 16–30, the second half of the month. The six titles Amnesia Collection, Amnesia: Rebirth, Back 4 Blood, Phantom Abyss, Research and Destroy and Soma belonged to the earlier April 15 departure announcement, not this second-half list. See Xbox’s April 2 announcement for that separate wave.

For a listed game that does not appear in an account’s library, check the subscription and access route first: EA Play and Core additions were distinct from the general catalog, and Manor Lords was PC-only in this announcement. Platform, regional availability and service conditions can also affect what appears. Xbox’s current plan comparison is the place to check present-day plan details; plan names and benefits have changed since April 2024.
