The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 post-launch overview trailer, published October 15, 2024, laid out a year of planned additions: free gameplay content alongside separate Season Pass cosmetics. It is a snapshot of the publisher’s plans at that date, not a current roadmap. Later official updates confirmed that the game continued receiving new modes, missions, enemies and weapons, and that its third year of support began in October 2026.
What did the October 2024 trailer announce?
Focus Entertainment framed the overview as a year of new content. Its trailer message said, “We’re bringing you a whole year of new content, entirely free.” That promise referred to gameplay additions; the trailer presented Season Pass cosmetics as a separate offering. Focus Entertainment’s October 15, 2024 overview is the primary source for the plan.
Early gameplay additions
The overview named the Termination PvE Operation on Kadaku, the Hierophant Bio-Titan, Lethal difficulty for Operations, and the Neo-Volkite pistol among the early additions it previewed.
Season Pass cosmetics
The cosmetic portion highlighted Dark Angels-themed items, including weapon skins and a Bulwark Champion Pack. These cosmetics were presented separately from the free gameplay updates; the trailer did not say that buying the Season Pass was necessary to access those updates.

Other planned content
The 2024 overview also previewed additional Operations, PvP maps and modes, new Tyranid and Thousand Sons enemies, more weapons, Horde mode, and cosmetics for other Chapters. Those were plans stated in October 2024, not a complete account of what is available now.
What did later official updates confirm?
Subsequent announcements show that support went beyond the initial trailer’s early content. Focus Entertainment’s September 4, 2025 anniversary update described additions including the Vortex Operation, the Stratagems PvE mode, Helbrute Onslaught PvP mode, new weapons, and a Chaos Spawn enemy. It also maintained the distinction between free gameplay content and Season Pass cosmetic DLC.

On October 1, 2026, the publisher said the second Anniversary Update was available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and marked the start of the game’s third year of post-launch support. The update added Chaos Siege mode, Crucible progression mechanics, a one-handed Thunder Hammer, and armor and weapon additions; it also introduced two Season Pass 3 cosmetic DLCs. The publisher said the full Year 3 roadmap had been unveiled in a separate September Community Update, but the October update did not reproduce its details. Read the October 1, 2026 update.

- As a dated roadmap overview: it records what the publisher previewed on October 15, 2024, rather than listing the game’s current content or the whole support plan.
- As a distinction between gameplay and cosmetics: the publisher described gameplay additions as free and Season Pass items as cosmetic DLC.
- In the context of continued support: official anniversary announcements in 2025 and 2026 confirmed later modes, missions, enemies, weapons, and other additions.
The 2026 announcement identifies PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC as supported platforms for that update. It does not provide the complete Year 3 roadmap in the announcement itself.
