KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue includes three experiences: one remastered game, one playable episode and one HD movie. The collection’s titles are Dream Drop Distance HD, 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – and χ Back Cover.
What are the three included experiences?
| Included title | What it is | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD | Playable game; an HD remaster | It remasters the portable game originally released in 2012, according to Square Enix. Nintendo describes it as a full-HD remaster on its US product listing. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – | Playable short episode | Nintendo describes it as a short episode linking to KINGDOM HEARTS III. |
| KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover | HD movie | The movie focuses on the Foretellers and the origins of the series; it is not a playable game in this collection. |
Square Enix lists the three components on its official collection page, while Nintendo’s US Nintendo Switch 2 listing specifies the remaster, episode and movie formats.
Is χ Back Cover a game or a movie?
χ Back Cover is an HD movie, not a separately playable game in HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Nintendo’s description identifies it as a movie about the Foretellers and the series’ origins.
Is 0.2 Birth by Sleep playable?
Yes. 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – is the collection’s playable short episode. Nintendo describes it as linking to KINGDOM HEARTS III.
