Is Elden Ring 2 confirmed?
No. The cited sources do not confirm an Elden Ring sequel. The Switch 2 edition is a version of the existing game, and Elden Ring Nightreign is a separate co-op action survival game; neither establishes that a sequel is in development.
Is FromSoftware moving to multiplayer games?
Miyazaki has said that The Duskbloods’ multiplayer design does not mean the company has decided to shift toward multiplayer-focused releases. Will the next game repeat Elden Ring’s open-world format?
There is no basis to assume that it will. In a June 17, 2024 interview with GameSpot, Miyazaki said, “I wouldn’t necessarily say that open world is going to become the new base or foundation or standard of the company.” He also said Elden Ring’s scale helped develop in-house directors, designers, and planners, and that FromSoftware wanted to keep an open mind about future game types.
