Mythical Games described June 2, 2021 as the Early Access soft launch of Blankos Block Party, giving core players a head start before a planned E3 reveal. It was a social multiplayer game built around collectible characters and player-made levels—but the PC game later shut down and is no longer playable.
When did Blankos Block Party launch in Early Access?
Mythical’s retrospective August 4, 2021 update described June 2, 2021 as the game’s Early Access soft launch. The company said the initial release gave core players an early start before a planned E3 reveal. The update also covered a progression reset and changes to gameplay and rewards.
That soft launch is distinct from the later Epic Games Store release. Epic’s listing gives September 15, 2022 as the release date. Mythical announced the game was live on the store on September 29, 2022, while it was still in Early Access.
What kind of game was Blankos Block Party?
Blankos Block Party was a free-to-play multiplayer party game developed by Mythical Games and Third Kind Games. Players could race, shoot, collect items, explore social spaces, and build and share custom levels. Its collectible characters, called Blankos, were digital characters; the Epic listing identified blockchain and NFT features.

Why did Blankos Block Party shut down?
On September 1, 2023, Mythical said development resources had shifted to Blankos Mobile and that Season 4 would be the final season for Blankos Block Party. In its December 18, 2023 farewell notice, Mythical said the PC game would sunset that day at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The publisher stated: “The game will no longer be downloadable or playable after this date.”
Can you still play Blankos Block Party?
No. Mythical’s shutdown notice says the game is no longer downloadable or playable after December 18, 2023. An Epic Games Store listing or historical launch announcement does not mean the game can still be installed or played.
