Sid Meier’s Civilization VII came out worldwide on February 11, 2025. Deluxe and Founders edition owners could start playing earlier, on February 6, 2025; that was an edition-specific early-access date, not the general release date.

Civilization VII launched worldwide on February 11, 2025, according to the 2K and Firaxis Games launch announcement.
Why did some players get access on February 6?
Early access began February 6, 2025, for the Deluxe and Founders editions, as stated on the game’s official gameplay showcase page. That date was five days before the worldwide launch and did not apply to every edition.

Was the 73-million sales figure for Civilization 7?
No. The launch announcement said the Civilization franchise had sold more than 73 million copies worldwide. That is a franchise-wide figure reported by 2K and Firaxis in 2025, not sales of Civilization VII alone.
