Fortnite’s The Simpsons-themed Battle Royale season began on Saturday, November 1, 2025—not this coming Saturday. Epic’s original announcement described a Springfield Island season with an 80-player format, themed Battle Pass rewards, Simpsons weapons, animated shorts and tournaments. The announcement is a record of the 2025 launch, not news of a new season starting in October 2026. Epic’s Fortnite announcement was published November 1, 2025.
What Fortnite’s Simpsons season included
Epic presented the season as a Simpsons-themed Battle Royale event on Springfield Island. The details below are from the publisher’s launch announcement, not independent gameplay testing.
- Springfield Island: An 80-player Battle Royale experience Epic described as “fast-paced” and “back-to-basics.” The announcement also highlighted giant falling donuts and angry clones.
- Springfield Battle Pass: Premium outfits included Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky Fishstick and Springfielder Peely.
- Peels the Sidekick: Epic introduced Peels as Fortnite’s first Sidekick. The announcement said other Sidekicks would arrive in the Shop on November 7, 2025.
- Other event content: The launch announcement also promoted Simpsons weapons in Delulu and Springfield tournaments.
When and where to watch the animated shorts
Epic announced four original shorts, scheduled across the season. At launch, Epic said players could find them in Fortnite’s Quests tab under Animated Shorts and on Disney+.

The Disney+ information reflects launch-era availability; the original announcement does not establish whether the shorts remain in the service’s catalog today in every country. Epic’s season announcement lists the shorts and their launch viewing route.

What the later Fortnite and Simpsons announcements mean
In June 2026, Disney and Epic announced a different development: The Simpsons was joining Fortnite’s IP Partner Program. Disney said an official toolkit made with Disney, 20th Century Studios and Gracie Films was planned for later in 2026, with assets intended for Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). The announcement concerns developers creating Simpsons-themed Fortnite experiences; it does not announce a return of the 2025 Battle Royale season. The June announcements do not confirm whether the toolkit has launched by October 8, 2026.
For the reported reach of the 2025 season, the publishers gave different hours totals. Epic’s June 18, 2026 announcement said more than 80 million players and over 750 million hours; Disney’s June 17 announcement said more than 80 million players and 780 million hours. These are separately attributed publisher figures, and the announcements do not reconcile the difference.
