Has Nintendo announced a Miitopia 2 release date?
No confirmed date has been announced in the official Nintendo sources checked as of October 8, 2026. Nintendo’s September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct coverage and its February 2026 announced first-party software schedule do not list Miitopia 2. These checks establish that no date appears in those materials; they do not establish that Nintendo will never announce a sequel.
Which Miitopia release date might be causing confusion?
The Nintendo Switch version of the original Miitopia launched on May 21, 2021. Nintendo’s US and Canadian product pages identify that release date; it is not a release date for Miitopia 2. Nintendo lists a physical Switch edition of the original game as well.
The original game also released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on December 8, 2016. That regional date applies to the 3DS version, not the Switch edition or a sequel.

What happened to Miitopia’s 3DS Mii search feature?
Nintendo’s Japanese 3DS product page says its internet-based Mii-search functionality ended on April 9, 2024. That notice is specific to the 3DS feature and should not be read as a statement about every feature on other platforms.
