Rainbow Six Siege X launched on June 10, 2025. Ubisoft revealed the update at the Siege X Showcase on March 13, 2025. Siege X is a major evolution of Rainbow Six Siege, not a separate upcoming release: existing owners received a free update, while new players could try it through Free Access.
When did Rainbow Six Siege X release?
Ubisoft announced June 10, 2025, as the launch date at the March 13, 2025, Siege X Showcase. The update went live on that date as part of Year 10 Season 2, Operation Daybreak. Ubisoft’s roadmap, last updated September 23, 2026, marks the launch as released.
The announcement was for the next evolution of Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft’s showcase recap described Siege X as “The next evolution of Rainbow Six Siege” and introduced it on March 13, 2025.
What launched with Siege X?
Ubisoft presented Siege X as a major update to the existing game, with changes to the core experience and a new mode. The March 13 showcase recap highlighted visual enhancements, an audio overhaul, rappel upgrades, and player-protection systems.

Dual Front
Dual Front is a new 6v6 mode. In Ubisoft’s announcement, two teams of six Operators fight to attack enemy sectors while defending their own. The mode allows players to combine attacking and defending Operators on a team, and it includes respawning. These are the mode details Ubisoft shared at the showcase.
Access and returning players
Existing owners received Siege X as a free update. New players could use Free Access to play, though Ubisoft noted that features including Ranked, Siege Cup, additional Operators, and cosmetics required payment. Players who had bought and played Rainbow Six Siege before launch kept their progression, inventory, and Operators, according to Ubisoft’s June 4 launch guide.

Which platforms had Siege X, and where was Dual Front available?
Ubisoft’s June 4, 2025, launch guide listed PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC through Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Steam, as well as Ubisoft+. The guide specifically states that Dual Front is not supported on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One; those platforms’ exclusion applies to that mode, not the entire Siege X launch.
A May 18 Ubisoft specifications article also named Amazon Luna, while the June 4 launch guide’s platform list did not. For the launch-guide list, use the platforms and services above rather than combining the two dated lists as though they were identical.
