The official announcement said the update arrived on all platforms. The map is therefore not new in 2026. It has been available as in-game content inside Black Ops 6 for well over a year, not as a separately sold product.

What Citadelle des Morts is
Citadelle des Morts is a Round-Based Zombies map set in an ominous medieval fortress in Avalon. In the game’s lore, the castle is one of Avalon’s oldest landmarks, established in the 1100s and completed a century later. That history is fictional world-building within Black Ops 6, not a description of a real historical castle.

The map picks up after the events of Terminus. Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey travel to Avalon with Peck, Raptor One, and Strauss to meet Gabriel Krafft and learn about the Sentinel Artifact. Franco, a French Syndicate crime boss, has Krafft hostage when dimensional breaches and a major zombie outbreak threaten the crew.
What else arrived with the update
The announcement introduces four elemental Wonder Weapons. It also names Vulture Aid, Light Mend, and Tesla Storm among the new Zombies content tied to the update. The official material available for this article does not list the individual names of the four Wonder Weapons, so check the in-game Wonder Weapon entries or the announcement for those details.

Playing Citadelle des Morts
The official Call of Duty map guide, published January 15, 2025, describes a map that mixes open areas with narrow castle corridors. Route planning, traps, and obstacles can help you evade zombies, and the guide flags Decoys as useful in several major locations.
Navigating corridors and open ground
The open areas give you space to move, but the castle corridors limit your escape routes. Plan where you will retreat before you commit to a fight in a narrow passage, and use traps and obstacles to slow pursuers rather than relying on speed alone.
